Since birth control is the latest hot topic which candidate believes in birth control and if not why.

The first is there is a legitimate question about the power of the government to impose on religion activities which any religion.

-- -- -- -- -- -- -- You did not once in 2008 campaign not once did anybody in the -- media.

Ask why Barack Obama voted in favor of legalizing and -- Newt Gingrich there are going after CNN's John King in the debate this week this time for as you heard a question about birth control.

Newt Gingrich has generally done well in these debates Jim generally.

Always in ball in.

You invoking some kind of an attack on the media is it working for well it it's.

Pretty well -- it doesn't seem to be keeping in first place there close but it is certainly has brought up a major dynamic of the of this presidential contest and frankly every Republican presidential -- witches.

They're the Democrats and the media and they're both kind of ganging up against Republicans most of the time.

And a Smart Republican we'll say look we'll get to Obama eventually but right now I got to deal with this moderator.

George Stephanopoulos John King whoever and that it's a big applause from the Republican on -- we.

Are at a time period in this country we've got tremendous unemployment we've got soaring deficits and yet most of the questions in that debate were designed to elicit you know old GOP infighting they had nothing to do with the president's.

And the problems facing.

The -- well I'm not sure they should have to do with the president that they should have to do with the press that the problems facing the country.

And I do agree the debates and to become a reality show.

-- becomes something that they have this sort of following I think and four point three.

Million people watching the debate I had this week in Arizona.

And act and it's it's become its own sort of show I -- think that.

It is time probably too quick to debates and really get to issues that.

Judy used and are you agreeing that twenty debates -- enough.

Well no I'd still -- I hate.

I know.

We're talking about mud wrestling here people like to watch that -- but if people find these debates.

Illuminating.

If they learn something about the character and views of the candidates.

We're now down before.

So we're finally really getting inside their views and positions and getting a chance to see what they -- I think one left 111 -- There were no questions about gas prices which have peaked above five dollars in some parts of Florida for instance is that an issue that the media should be -- we'll certainly has but look I think we're all about conflict in the media we like the conflict.

We like the horse race.

The idea of getting things settled this far ahead of the convention.

Is really anathema to us because we like right about that just -- we condemn it but it's like -- Listerine complex you hated that you use it twice a day.

But it's just that there's still this palpable bias -- mean Steve Hayes the weekly standard made it had a great tweet about the holes it looked when that the contraception issue.

Came came up -- them the Democrats said this thing you.

Contraception you know religious zealotry issue Republicans and -- religious freedom have -- and oddly enough the mainstream media.

Sided with the Democrats on this frame -- -- got to have -- to have a have a conflict as long as the issue is just how crazy is Santorum question.

I actually thought one of the best commentaries as Michael -- of times and he did a sort of the blow by blow for this debate the Florida debate.

And and he really talked about this long wild ride it was very funny PC talked about shedding false tears and -- those -- I thought he had.

Sort of the funniest but most coherent and now -- -- it is amusing to see how the media approach religion when it favors a liberal agenda for example of choice on abortion they're all -- they welcome religious voices -- But when it has questions about abortion or contraception then the New York Times can write an editorial about.

Quote Rick santorum's religious fanaticism.

So it really all depends not when religion serves liberal -- it's okay when it's against -- it's bad.

Judy we've seen that candidates do well in the debates they get positive media coverage in their numbers go up.

Who got the positive media coverage this time well I I think that the issue at this point is who's getting the most coverage I think because.

At this point the candidates themselves are being heard and I think I have to disagree with you -- I'm Rick Santorum you are hearing views that are so far to the right of where women -- -- mainstream now all -- -- -- -- and we.

No I'm just look at that look at the numbers in terms of the gender gap that -- CNN poll had.

37%.

Of -- and thing for him vs 29% of women.

Then 99% of women in this country use contraception that issue that -- -- -- this -- government.

-- -- -- -- -- was right and they have I don't know how many.

Right in that debate it's about the government and forcing that a particular position in this case on the Catholic and I can tell you.

I can I wish that I wish actually that there had been more coverage.

-- doctor Paul's -- comment about.

Don't blame the pills I mean I actually thought he summed it up in in in and terrific little -- is -- the patents so you'll be contributing to his campaign.

I'm not just your president as a candidate I.
