First a rising gas prices now a big issue for the president his fellow Democrats reportedly said to be urging the president.
It's happened emergency reserves.
Report suggesting that -- worried this issue could cost him the win in November.
And ever trickle down effect in other members of congress current average three dollars 73 cents a gallon no sign of stopping there either.
-- California congressman Kevin McCarthy house majority co chair of the house energy action team sir good morning and welcome back to America's Newsroom.
Good morning thanks for having this as your boss.
Just about 24 hours ago on this very issue speaker Boehner.
Americans understand.
But we can produce more of our own energy.
And they don't understand.
-- 35 years.
Since the all of Barbara 1974.
But we've never.
-- national energy policy.
We've got a handful of environmental.
Groups radical environmental -- a little -- no way of having a national energy policy all of these years.
And it's just about damn time the way out perhaps and national energy policy and do something the American people most of them.
What's the way out of this there.
Well the -- it is.
Have reduced American energy I mean listen to what the Democrats are saying you have Steny -- the minority whip he's concerned about the energy crisis -- how it -- the administration.
Senator Schumer is the answer is to get the State Department to talk to Saudi Arabia to produce more oil.
And then you got the president.
In -- Keystone Pipeline.
This is an ability that we can produce our -- you know what happens when you produce your own energy in America you don't send your money somewhere else and you create American jobs.
That's why in the house we passed an energy bill a couple weeks ago.
We will continue to do this.
There is a way out of that and this shouldn't be politics we should be more concerned how this affects America that how to fix it minister on the political issue that the political equation are Democrats worried.
About regular November if the prices stay where they are for several months or even below.
I think the president you saw him -- he's now saying -- -- half of the Keystone Pipeline.
When he vetoed it twice you look at the process in California the prices for 35.
You can look at the price changes you -- at the light.
I mean this this is unheard of we've never had the price right so fast at this time.
And the sad part about it when you look at America look at North Dakota why is unemployment so low in North Dakota.
Because they're out -- discovering energy and they have capability to do even more they don't have enough housing out there.
We have the capability.
To be energy independent and do all the above and that's the plan that we've been -- and the Dakotas a look at more -- become -- -- -- the jobs they have you have a job Zach yourself -- -- you pushing for.
Well we've got six provisions and here's -- the jobs -- to jump start the business startups because startups and small business.
Account for the all the job creation we've had since 19775.
Years young -- over.
But the toughest part to start -- small business access the capital.
The regulation and the red tape.
Entrants to markets so this bill there's six versions of -- it's bipartisan.
We'll actually access and allow greater startups to start this country moving again.
The Democrats say it's redundant and a waste of time in the fifteen seconds I have left what do you say to them.
I think it's a waste of time when unemployment above the 8% for 35 consecutive months that's why they're so far out of touch and I think all Americans want to see jobs created in America Kevin McCarthy thank you for your time we'll follow it on both fronts thank you served.
Thank you.
