Brand new polling shows a majority of Americans believe the individual mandate in president Obama's health care law is against the constitution.
Gallup 72%.
Compared to 20% who say otherwise and the former New York governor George Pataki with me now your reaction to that number that's almost I'm not -- routers I'm not surprised the American people understand Obama care is a terrible law.
And the single worst element of it is the individual mandate.
I think I'm -- too -- a lawyer to predict what the Supreme Court is going to do but I know what they should it.
Never in the history of this country has the federal government told people that you have to purchase something or be fine it's wrong.
I believe it's unconstitutional.
The American people know that and I hope the Supreme Court upholds that McCain regardless of what the Supreme Court does look at what's happening now and election here in -- swing states.
These battleground states is a good or bad a majority 53% say it's a bad thing -- Obamacare itself -- majority think is a bad thing majority of Americans today want to repeal the whole law.
It is really the federal government a bunch of bureaucrats in Washington just dictating health care decisions to every single American across the country.
It's wrong inherently and it's unconstitutional.
When it comes to requiring an individual who doesn't want anything at all from the federal government.
To have to buy something -- B five I think it should be a part of the political dialogue I hope the Republican nominee.
Hammers the president on his real government takeover and and destruction of individual rights and billion -- not just.
In this case where -- trampling on constitutional.
This whole argument.
Where the federal government through Obama care can tell the Catholic Church or any institution you have got to provide services you think are in violation of your religious beliefs.
That I believe is -- that is unconstitutional to you I just think this administration has an ideological agenda.
And they're prepared to trample the constitution to advances if they think the social goals design I would argue the issue is not contraception it's a question without the government can tell you how.
You -- -- -- -- I don't think anybody's arguing that the legality of contraception it's the federal government telling religious institutions you have got to perform a service or provide -- good that he that violates your religious and -- -- -- -- active health care in a moment here debate last week Mesa, Arizona Mitt Romney was asked about this and this will likely be his defense if he is the nominee.
And world.
Under the tenth amendment states have a right to do things that they think -- their best interest I know you would you agree with that.
But let's let's put this out Arbil was seventy pages his bill is 2700.
Pages.
There's a lot of those 2007 -- -- pages I don't agree with that let me tell yet if I'm president of the United States I will repeal obamacare.
Of the 53%.
In the battleground states -- gonna buy that argument.
I hope so because the most important thing the Mitt Romney said there is the last line if he is president he will fight to repeal Obama care.
I think that -- the most important thing that came out of that entire dialogue you know it's easy to look back and point fingers this -- that way.
But if you -- -- be president of the United States you have to look forward in the American people are going to want to hear what you're going to do if you hold those that title and that power.
And Mitt Romney has made it very clear he will repeal Obama care to the extent the president can do it with.
Working with congress and I think that's the right thing to do do I think Massachusetts made the right decision.
No I don't do I think under the tenth amendment states can do things the federal government.
Cannot do well sure they -- that doesn't make it right but I think the most important thing.
And he's made it very clear Mitt Romney says he disagrees with Obama here.
As president he will work to repeal it and I think the American people agree with him on that and we'll support that there's a buried headline that polling by the way only 24%.
Believe the health care law would improve the lives of their families' health care situation.
That is revealing that that is stunning -- Governor thank you for Erica thank you George attack it former governor here -- --
