Super Tuesday let's in 24 hours away and the Republican candidates are crisscrossing the country in a final push.

For 419.

Delegates -- up for grabs tomorrow former Pennsylvania senator and 2012 presidential candidate Rick Santorum joins us now live on the road from.

Dayton Ohio good morning to senator.

-- -- -- -- I guess Ohio is one of the most important of the big states tomorrow I think because you're arguing that it's nobody's home state.

And also because it's a closed primary right it's only Republicans who can come to the Paul how important is that for you.

Well I -- -- I'm I'm I'm very encouraged by what's going on here in Ohio on the week we've been working very very hard here we've got a great message talks about you going to manufacturing base of our economy talks about for creating opportunities for people to -- -- We're putting our energy program out here which is which is key and of course were drawing the contrast on the very important issue of obamacare and Chris Allen the revelations that governor Romney not -- put -- in place in Massachusetts but advocated for it.

I -- for President Obama to use his model of an individual mandate at the federal level.

You know again you know we're looking for the best candidate that can take on Barack Obama right now -- we believe that on the issues where it.

Well senator there's a quinnipiac poll out this morning -- it says the race is too close to call.

So there's a possibility though they say that you could actually win the popular vote in Ohio.

But because of some eligibility requirements that you're -- -- organization didn't meet.

You might not be counted in a number of congressional district said that's got to be heartbreaking what do you chalk that up to what.

Well I chuck it up to that -- had to do this in early December and as you remember guys you're.

Well most people were following a good job few folks were followed me I was driving to the cornfields of violent early December to -- -- were able to get almost -- You know the chuck -- that's right we really get most of the ballots but like I you know we were we're not -- big behemoth of an organization that could spend endless amounts of money.

To get on ballots you know that early on in the campaign week.

There -- a couple that we had trouble with one was Virginia and won here as Ohio.

Although Lee he said we're on we're on the match the statewide ballot and on the vast majority of the congressional districts and -- I had I think the number of delegates here is pretty inconsequential.

In the grand scheme of things.

You know we we need to do well here in Ohio will be -- spent about six to one -- again.

Just about every state I mean it's remarkable that we're doing as well as we are guys amid word we're just getting pummeled -- -- robocalls and direct mail and television advertising.

And we're hanging in there.

Because we've got a message and governor Romney -- and other than just running negative ads are super -- running negative ads so.

We feel good that that the people of Ohio gonna take the scrappy guy for grew up in the steel town in Western Pennsylvania.

And -- and help him win Ohio and we feel very good about Tennessee and Oklahoma we're gonna have a good day against again all those states are being badly outspent two.

But we're hanging in there and were doing well.

Eric Cantor resolve this little bit longer a little bit earlier and he's it would endorsing Mitt Romney and he says it's because of Mitt Romney's economic plan let's listen.

The reason why I decided to wade into the race and endorse Mitt Romney is because he's the only one candidate that has put forward.

A bold.

Pro growth plan to grow this economy.

That's a central issue this election people want to see a better economic future and Mitt Romney is the only man.

In the race who's actually had experience that will enable him to do that -- you don't agree with that I imagine.

And -- it up.

There's a good guy but he's just factually wrong I mean you know hundred but it just looked at the the plans between my planning governor Romney's it's called his plan timid.

I may -- -- around on the edge is a you know 59 different points.

You know barely you know -- reduces rates just a little bit doesn't have any fundamental reform of the tax code.

Mean Eric say you know Erickson got good guys a leader in congress.

I mean he's used to just take it around the edges that's what congress does I know I mean I was there and I and I saw how folks react.

That's what we we don't need someone who who's gonna he'll make congressman feel comfortable we need someone's gonna win -- shake things up.

And an upset peoples equilibrium and and get -- to think big.

Governor Romney's plan is not -- it is not -- is anything but transformational.

He had -- the only proposes about a half a trillion dollars in spending reductions.

-- -- even present -- been able to come up with that much.

This we need somebody's like I have I've got proposed five trillion dollars in cuts a bold plan that eliminates the IRS and replaces it with five adoptions and to rates.

I cut corporate tax cuts it happened makes up and a flat.

Net profits tax and zero is about for manufacturers.

That's bold that's gonna get people back to work that's gonna help.

Working class people in this country.

-- working in a blue collar people in this country to country due to really have the opportunity arise in our society.

All right senator Rick Santorum thanks very much for joining us from Ohio which will be a huge player tomorrow in Super Tuesday best of luck we'll talk yet after the big day.

Thank you folks unit.
