Accusations of racism for chanting USA.

It happened after -- high school basketball game in Texas fans of the winning team from a mostly white school district started chanting USA during the trophy presentation.

Folks from the opposing team took that as a racial insults saying it was despite the disrespectful to their students who are mostly minorities.

Monica Crowley is a radio talk show host and a Fox News contributor Sally -- is a political commentator and a Fox News contributor.

Sally what's wrong with chanting USA after a basketball game I mean if you have -- this was some kind of a playoff event of feels like the Olympics.

Well you know look there's nothing wrong with chanting USA in general is certainly nothing wrong with -- -- the Olympics said that you know I think we're all patriots here and I think patriotism is alive and well.

In the United States America John context is everything.

After similar incidents that happened in this region in Texas.

As you said it mostly white students in the crowd were chanting USA in response to be largely Latino team and what they're doing is wielding.

Patriotism.

To try and make this other team these other students feel that they are less than American.

And frankly that's un American we don't need that our country is it patriotism run amok Monica.

I have to say everybody should make a note of today's date because this is when political correctness is finally jumped the shark John if this chant USA had nothing to do -- race race was not an issue with this whatsoever this was a winning team who'd just won a championship.

Who is taking pride in his team effort.

In its victory and in the United States of America had nothing wrong with this whatsoever and frankly I think the American people by and large are really really fed up with this kind of nonsense.

Yeah apparently the the losing the school district not just the school but the losing district to Sally is complaining to the school district that you know supports of the winning the school.

Yeah sure I'll drop it wait a second even before forget what the losing school district has done -- the winning school district that the majority white district.

You know immediately after the game the coach said he was disappointed in.

In the display and the school itself apologizing not take my work -- They -- this was an appropriate and and look everybody knows around this country we have huge incidents of bullying.

Some students making other students feel -- -- less than that they are not part of our community.

At at a -- especially in a place like Texas where we know these things can be charged in terms of anti immigrant sentiments of Sadr.

Taking a school of -- largely minority students and especially Mexican American American born Latinos.

And trying to again until that.

There's nothing wrong with being patriotic.

But we know you know context is everything and we we can read between the lines.

And see what they would like you know what here's the problem when you start making accusations of racism where it doesn't exist and actually to lives authentic cases -- racism.

Which is an issue and so when you start claiming that the sky is falling when it isn't.

Then it -- it makes it Doug being taken less seriously when it actually does happen.

These are look let me put it to -- this way Sally.

Would you have the same issue of context if the opposing players mostly Hispanic started chanting in Spanish and -- -- Mexico would you then say that that was racially motivated against the mostly white team well again.

We're not but they're not that -- American students so we're talking about suing their nations have a problem with the chant USA and most Americans work and work talking about now but come on we're reading between any -- -- valley concept and we need to read between the lines here in our history America making certain people.

Feel who are Newark to our country feel that they're less than American because of their back from the columnist -- and incidentally.

This -- -- -- -- back a 10200 years this happened Irish Americans this happened Italian Americans.

It's happened African Americans and now -- the Mexican Americans.

America what we chant USA.
