There is a showdown brewing in Texas over millions in federal funds for low income women's health care.

This -- adopted regulations that in taxpayer money from going to clinics or groups that provide abortions.

How is this playing out.

It's playing out actually very well the state is not going to let down -- hundred.

Plus thousand women and in fact on Friday Governor Perry stated unequivocally that we will find the money so the women will have access to.

Health -- I think it's important to know that Planned Parenthood is only about 2%.

The health care providers for this Medicaid population is about 2500 providers in about 4600 locations.

And we are confident that the women will get the essential.

Health care that they -- We're talking nothing's a cancer screenings wellness exams birth control and some other issues.

A look there are worries that because Texas has had a budget crunch that this money is not going to be available elsewhere.

Of where does the governor where -- legislate tourists find this money.

Well the the money is still within health and human services budget they do have -- -- what they have to do is move it to.

Another state agency and commissioner sees -- -- he already has the money.

So they will not be any.

Failure to provide service for these programs.

-- -- to -- respond to the federal government saying that Texas is now playing politics.

With the lives in basic health care of women who need it most those two what you are making less than 20000 a year or have a family making less than 41000 dollars a year.

I'd say they're flat wrong.

We had just stated that we have the money would then provide the service what I think is more interesting is it's really not about health care.

Is actually about being tenth amendment states rights.

There is a very clear unequivocal statute which does not -- a state agency to provide money to be sort of 2% and so they're finding ways to be sure that the women since the Obama administration wants to cut off the health care we will provide it.

Any chance that Texas would consider a lawsuit against the feds if they do with holed a 35 million dollars.

Well according to a letter that I've seen obviously we hope for negotiated result here but I think that the state.

Would take this thing through the courts to ensure that our rights under the tenth amendment and -- rights under the social security act are -- in the state.

Dizziness is a bigger overall fight with the current administration when it comes to issues.

That we know that they are specifically.

Of course as any candidate would want to do -- want to appeal to women and very much focused on women's issues recently.

Do you think it's it it it's an appropriate focus for the administration to draw the line and say we want to make -- That women have access to everything including -- -- Well we're saying that we what women have access to -- -- we're providing it but I do think you're -- it is part of a larger issue.

We're seeing incredible federal encroachments.

Under the Endangered Species Act the clean air -- Clean Water Act telling our.

Agencies that they don't have the authority to do you.

The activities it had previously delegates which -- leave much broader agenda and the state of Texas is not one to back up from a fight.
