President Obama was challenged about this in an interview with WFTV.
Orlando.
Opponents say that doesn't get gas price down to dollar to fifty range.

And summit forgotten areas is just fine that's what the market.
Is -- offer.
Frank -- the market gets to decide I think the president's right there's not much he can do about it he might -- a penny or two of he had -- these signals that we're not gonna drill anywhere but it's a world market so what America does doesn't make that much of a different.
And president Jeff President Obama though John any on the issue of keystone and slope -- -- in the gulf at no drilling in the last guy and and it Newt Gingrich says that if he had opened up those areas then we would have I think the figures like two point one million barrels more I believe I day.
And America and obviously it takes time to do that but that obviously would lower prices over time.
Maybe a penny or two but not a huge amount this that the world market makes such a big difference and I just for perspective one thing we should think about mistake because second to do it.

And that's got saw how much do you drive by it right you fill up your car you have my mini -- and I hate -- 170 -- not -- costs but.
-- it's it's if government were bringing -- gasoline it would cost.
Forty bucks a gallon it's I think it's I'm impressed with what these oil companies are -- -- think Newt Gingrich's.
Final game here that attitude fifty at signs and hold up to gaffe pops on yes.
Now while I was working now he also wants to take -- to the -- Well I'm I'm I'm I'm on a space -- my thoughts on the mountain on -- find -- -- that fascinating conversation as nice guy.
