Now the president has said over and over there's no silver bullet for rising gas prices but don't worry he's found -- alternate plan a task force -- -- -- What we're doing is looking at every single possible.
Area that could impact.
Gas prices from bottlenecks that are out there right now we've set up a task force to look -- the speculation to make sure the folks.
Are taking advantage of the situation on the -- -- markets.
Now this gas price task force was reportedly set up ten months ago so when they've been doing clearly not much.
Now when you look at the list of task force initiatives that have set up under this president like task force on traveling competitiveness the president's -- for some Puerto Rico.
The -- agency carbon capture and storage task force.
It's really quite obviously President Obama is not taking this matter well as serious as the rest of us here with reaction to this a much more presidential candidate Mitt Romney what they're new Yorker real actually -- I'm great welcome to -- -- let me show you one thing the president seemed to be mocking people the Governor Palin may be in particular because she used a phrase drill baby drill.
A mocking it seems those that disagree with them about the issue of drilling -- -- -- do not.
Tell me that we're not -- Were drilling all over this country.
I mean I guess there's another few spots where we're not drilling we're not drilling in the National Mall.
We're not drilling at your house.
If you start here and this drill baby drill drill drill drill.
If you start hearing that again.
Just remember you've got the facts.
We're doing that.
Tell me something new.
Said we consume 20% oil oil -- -- 2% while the ability for 2% of what's your answer that.
Well he's wrong of course and actually watch that clip and it thinks this is all very funny.
But there -- a lot of people who have a hard time getting to and from work and being able to make ends meet after they've gone to and from work I -- you get soccer moms.
Who after they dropped their kids -- wonder can they afford to -- -- that the vehicle gas again I mean that this is -- a lot of people already suffering having tough times right now because of these gas prices.
And I so I can cut through that that the baloney in the task force and just tell him Mr.
President.
Open up drilling in the gulf open up drilling in and -- open up drilling in the outer continental shelf drill in North Dakota.
Drill and an Oklahoma and Texas -- are getting our.
Oil resources and by the way let's also start opening up our natural gas resources instead of having it held up by the EPA.
So back and ultimately becoming a transportation fuel.
And by the way let's take advantage of our coal resources as well Mr.
President you seem to like electric cars but you know they take electricity that means -- -- that that the president is looking for someone to blame many a look at the mayor I mean I know I know he likes.
Alternative energy but I credit for the signal -- to the president -- -- -- also what I am how would like to see that is all right good line.
Here -- is a pretty -- time he's claiming we never produce more oil.
But that some private -- North Dakota where unemployment is 3%.
The permitting process as I understand is down by what two thirds -- -- licensing them licensing -- and half yet he's held off the licensing and permitting on federal lands.
And I'm private -- he's through the EPA has been slowing down the capacity of -- people to drill and provide a provider of energy and of course.
How about that the Keystone Pipeline this very clear.
This president does not want to have carbon based energy flowing in this country instead he wants to drive prices up that's what's happening.
So that his you know vaunted.
Windmills and solar power companies will what will be successful and frankly.
That they're not going to be successful given the current economics of their technologies and we're gonna have to rely on carbon based energy and the good news is we have a lot of it.
And the 2% represents a tiny share -- 2%.
Of the world's oil reserves look there's also some oil that is not part of those official reserves.
Jimmy Carter made the same point years and years ago he said we have thirty billion at the earth -- -- -- barrels of oil that's -- we have of the reserve well since then we've already drilled seventy billion.
And we still have a twenty million in the official -- and a lot of we have enough about oil to be it energy independent for seventy years that doesn't include oil ocean health.
We have more oil -- -- Saudi Arabia we have enough natural gas for a minimum of a hundred years.
But the president when he -- running did say suggest that we inflate our tires get tune ups and he gave money to Brazil so they can explore.
And will be the best customer well and you know I was just to Mississippi and and it in Pascagoula they had.
I think three large oil -- sit in there not being used they could be used in the gulf they're about to get towed to Brazil.
Because they're ready to drill there and we -- here holding him up because of the EPA and regulations that keep.
The drilling from occurring in this country that the president realizes he's in -- there a world of hurt on this and there were rumors today at the White House or even thinking about tapping.
The strategic petroleum reserve to try to bring a gas prices and that that was.
That's an emergency reserve and his falling poll numbers.
Did not -- -- an emergency for the nation let's look at the president 41% approval rating no modern president has been elected with those low numbers.
You wouldn't latest Rasmussen poll you beat the president by five points.
The New York Times poll 80% and I think this was the key number for May say they are not better off than they were four years ago.
-- Do you think it's going to be difficult to beat him well I think -- race is always tough to remove an incumbent president he has the power of running policy in the intervening months he will probably take actions to try and shore up his.
Is favorable numbers prior to the election but I think he's in real trouble.
But does this recovery and I believe we're in a recovery mode finally he really -- -- well.
-- it's hard to know don't don't to predict precisely what's gonna happen in the economy but but I think it's likely things get better look no recession has gone forever.
That they they get better this is just taken much longer.
But to recover from in part because of the policies of this president.
Everything he has done has made it less attractive from ought to put -- to start a business.
Or for current business to hire more people -- where there was Dodd-Frank or what -- pushing card check our cap and trade or higher taxes higher marginal tax rates.
All these things Obama care.
All of them make it less likely for business to grow and that's why so many people are suffering today.
What do you Wear it where is this stand from your perspective in terms of the race you're leading with delegates.
And Newt Gingrich said that it would be a good thing for the country.
To go through two months in the summer leading up to the convention is if you can get enough delegates to secure this by June.
What is your answer to that and committed delegates etc.
for bound delegates is -- term.
Well I I hope to be able to it I get the nomination before that the convention I think that will happen I think.
We are far more likely to be able to defeat the president if we have enough time to to raise money to go up against just.
Billion dollar war chest that he intends to race.
To build the kind of organization state by state that you have to build the focus our attack on the president and his failed policies I hope that happens.
A sooner rather than later I hope on the got a gets it.
But but this is after all not about a person.
This is about the country.
Amid the that this is right now -- battle for what America's going to be in this president is taking us in a very dangerous direction we have to nominate someone who could beat him.
And who can fix America and get people working again with good jobs.
And can ultimately and this extraordinary deficit spending discretion in us history -- to keep coming up for vice president if you get the nomination senator Marco Rubio.
Florida.
Bob McDonnell governor Virginia and senator Portman.
Ohio.
-- superb people.
Great -- much longer list of the -- remarkable Republicans and that is you know we've got fabulous.
A -- in my body on your short list but certain I haven't thought about a short list -- gonna let the past I have to get the nomination before I'm allowed to think about.
-- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- --
