Move along to politics.
And boy is this a fun -- America's election headquarters.
Dominated by the three people with me here today Jim Pinkerton Fox News contributor Sally -- Fox News contributor -- -- back.
-- -- -- parents and much loved the parents have.
IG's day though dean of the school -- sciences at Iona College lovingly referred to as the -- of Westchester.
It's lovely to have you back and misty agreed to be back at I'm here at Saint Patrick's Day so will be marching tomorrow you'll be not Jesse my Green and I guess -- -- I don't disagree a little -- I don't know how it.
Jackets you'll have a little orange just to balance -- throughout the I don't gonna explain that to the America I.
Kind of goals England will be playing island in the -- -- -- -- final round of the six nations tournament.
I'll get the brass monkey in the Meatpacking District here -- -- -- along little idea Irish friends.
And England will win.
All right on the politics so -- of winning Mitt Romney's doing some of that but not quite enough give it.
Common.
No probably not as much as he would like.
But and an up and not enough to keep it it keeps enemies encouraged but I think at Larry's Apatow had a terrific piece this morning on his website.
What's happened -- those crystal ball here's -- look if you count the delegates.
You know a promise to have a great April.
But is -- but did you Jeanine is being like them sort of -- -- saying I'll get the delegates don't get the delegates is it -- not.
With us and giving enthusiasm gap it's odd to argue against that as an.
We absolutely look at the the latest Gallup poll and Romney has less enthusiasm -- of any hand in 2008 an absolutely Jim is right he -- the delegates are in his favor obviously.
But that is no message to carry forward and that's been his problem right along right.
He keeps talking about things that don't really get people on the right -- -- -- parts you look at that the latest elections and the latest primaries he couldn't get people out to vote for him and that's been a big problem and so the enthusiasm gap is and -- really -- and Sally -- can hardly what the smile to face.
And luck you know you look at the polls -- look at you know it's a racist he's won the race is lost.
There are two things consistently -- worry about Mitt Romney number one.
Over 60% of the Republican primary -- -- cats have been against him.
This is the presumed front runner and he is still widely and not.
Passively dislike actively disliked by a wide -- in his own base when we haven't moved into the general election yet -- one and second.
Again whether he's won a particular race or lost it.
He has consistently lost with voters who earn under a 100000 dollars a year so that is regular folks.
Aren't voting for aren't turning Jimmy he's sadly just like my a lot of the Republicans.
-- that's true that's true that he is.
How look there's two issues here one is does he have the good message -- now known as.
-- he is -- popular with the big chunks of the country know.
The other question is is even -- the nomination and I think the answer probably yes and so that at that gives him.
So a period of time to figure out how to get from the mathematical.
Number crunching of delegates which admittedly is inside baseball not particularly appealing to voters to that larger message -- pay.
You want President Obama to get -- -- -- second for years and meanwhile though even as Romney's having his problems.
Obama -- going down nine points in the polls and approval rating probably has a gas prices more than anything out yet looked a little -- that's got to give whoever the Republicans nominate.
Most likely Romney but whoever might be a -- I hope let's elect -- talk.
A little bit about the the campaign mode that the Democrats seem to be getting into now.
President Obama and as you -- gas prices are obviously going to be a big issue was we run up towards November.
President Obama was I believe I didn't -- yesterday talking back to.
Gas prices let's listen to the president.
There is no such thing as a quick fix.
When it comes to high -- right.
There's no silver -- Anybody who tells you otherwise.
Isn't really looking for a solution.
They're trying to ride the political wave of the -- And the Mitt Romany that was on the Hannity last night the Secret Service by the way who -- in this building in false.
When I call that in an elevator last night on the ground floor just as Mitt Romney was -- mean -- I thought -- was -- -- three bullets in the head they jumped so high as -- the -- open but anyway Mitt Romney made it safely up to Hannity studios I did not interfere with him in any way whatsoever.
Com and then he responded.
On gas prices has -- wrong.
If he thinks this is all very funny.
But there -- a lot of people who have a hard time getting to and from work and being able to make ends meet after they've gone to and from work I -- you got soccer moms.
Who after they dropped their kids -- wonder can they afford to fill up that of the vehicle with gas again I mean that this is -- a lot of people already suffering having tough times right now because these gas prices.
And I I can cut through that that the baloney in the task force and -- -- and Mr.
President.
Open up drilling in the gulf open up drilling in and -- open up drilling in the outer continental shelf drill in North Dakota.
Drill and -- Oklahoma and Texas and that the president is looking for someone to blame many a look at the mayor I mean I know I know he likes alternative energy but I'd rather read as an alternative president.
All good line included any time to president -- first of all you know.
I I don't.
Maybe admit isn't suffering trying to fill up his you know multiple cadillacs and so forth but to suggest that the president isn't taking it should seriously is is -- -- just a sense of everybody's upset when gas prices rise.
And you know look.
Reasonable people on both sides are busy trying to run for office Wilson bit.
You know if you agree with drilling -- -- -- -- -- -- you know that you can -- as much you want right now it's not gonna affect gas prices.
Until 45 years down the line so so that is that is literally trying to use -- -- gas price you know.
Problem as an excuse to push an agenda around throwing.
The reality is that you know whoever the president has that very little they can do to affect -- -- is right this moment except.
There is one thing that they could it which is.
Rattle sabers around Iran not you know do what exactly what Mitt Romney the other Republican nominees are doing in order to drive.
-- gas prices which is the number one factor right now by their -- And make the president look bad so it really is Mitt Romney going up to irresponsibly you know -- say no we should go to war with the railroad earth it's raising people's gas prices.
Anyway this weather it's whether it's the president who controls gas prices or events entirely beyond his control.
The bottom lying for President Obama is that the voters.
Blame the president them.
He's got a deal with a.
They absolutely do it sounds the first person I've -- -- blamed Mitt Romney for the gas prices and rightly so that's good afternoon but you know absolutely the voters are gonna blame the president is that -- probably not but it every president gets blamed for the current economic state the current employment numbers the current gas prices that's the way he goes he's -- -- almanac and you saw -- you saw Joseph -- out on the campaign -- yesterday -- first official campaigns.
You know stops of the season essentially for the Democrats and neighbor making the case on energy -- he's gonna have to make because Jim is right.
His poll numbers down nine points I think in the latest polls.
He's dropping he's gonna have some issues here that -- it.
He's running against a very you -- -- field at this point so you know if he does he face a lot of trouble at this point absolutely not.
And Sally is right to this extent Mitt Romney has got to use this energy issue to his favor and he hasn't been able to do that.
Did he think he can do.
-- -- that is on the ovals and he's got sort of middling communication skills let's be honest it however however.
Every now after the device that Brady's pass -- -- -- the reality is that.
Obama administration has.
Campaign in 2008 on higher energy prices that was the vision they had as as President Obama said in 2008 his cap and trade plan would -- make.
Electricity -- prices skyrocket that was his -- skyrocket.
Stephen Chu the energy secretary said over and over again back then that he wanted to see gas prices up -- the European level most wasn't just because they enjoy inflicting pain on Americans.
It was because they wanna get rid of the internal combustion engine in the car and put people -- vans and bicycles that was their plan now it blew up in their faces.
Did they thought that people could you come in with you know their energy bet batteries and so on and then somehow this would change everything and make everybody like and -- and I think they overestimate the popularity of a pedestrian walking in and bicycles.
Now they're definitely try to back titles I don't know we can't do anything is to tell it what the truth of matter is the moment that -- the Obama administration said we're gonna open up and more or anything like that.
The speculation premium in gas prices would collapse.
And you would see a pretty steep plunge just based on the on the theory that a couple years now that would be a lot lower --
