-- so election weekend of course even after calls for some of that.
GOP presidential candidates to drop none of them seems to be going anywhere.
Is there a clear GOP front runner at this point and click the lack of a front runner hurt the party joining us sort it all out our regular.
Let's talk show host -- homes and Mike Gallagher gentlemen great to have you on the today.
Thank you -- I would like to point out I would like to point out of them on street Patrick's day -- the conservatives weren't bringing.
How on the liberal not -- to wait a minute Michael Roll maneuver I it is is that I'm going out for Green bagel right after the and I.
Talk more about that counts.
Our -- let me ask you this you heard Governor Huckabee earlier at the top of the -- saying -- a brokered convention would be a disaster for the party agree.
Right well I mean there are some who argue that's -- it's already been sort of -- for the Republican Party I.
I have a big concern that the more Republicans are battling each other the better this is for President Obama and for the Democrats I'm sure Democrats are sitting back and rubbing their hands together saying boy have that -- -- keep knocking heads off so you know I think there's a big concern but I will say.
That I've never seen an election cycle a campaign season like this in my life.
It's bizarre it's got more twists and turns.
Then on the road in the you know he's been in these France and it's it's really preferred to Britain really prickly so.
You know anything could happen and I -- I don't know that that we what we won't bishop.
Right after Alan you're just totally upset about Elvis right I'm just -- take out the popcorn and watch and have have a great time doing it.
You know -- to make the argument that four years ago we had.
You know -- a very strong confidence going right up to the convention with Barack Obama Hillary Clinton but -- you had two very strong candidates who were embraced by the party.
Faithful and there was dreams of a combined ticket here you have a weakened candidate.
With the most delegates Mitt Romney and another candidate is coming on strong.
And I don't think there's any great love for either one of among among the broad swap of Republicans so the very different situation and certainly.
Does not bode well for November for the Republican.
I I I prefer to use the word what word undecided rather than weakened and I think I think a lot and that could happen.
Well they did not bad right about -- -- -- I think a lot of people are just still waiting to the last minute and I don't know that means one is is any particular anymore particularly weak in the other if it is bizarre though that we seem to be so undecided at this stage of the game but I I don't know this week I think.
I think when the Republican nominee is announced Republicans are gonna rally behind him in a very big and hopefully the people Barack Obama.
I'm really biting their -- when they do so meanwhile -- fundraising has become.
A part of a big spotlight right now over for the presidents of fundraising efforts and he's taking a lot of you about those fund -- efforts from those in the GOP but at the same time fundraising isn't reality.
And given that that fact why do you think that issue and of itself is causing so much -- Well because the Republicans will use anything as an issue against Barack Obama they keep saying.
Or billion dollar campaign although the president's campaign never said the number one billion dollars the other breath -- anything they can't but I don't think people want it.
I really looking at the fine points of how the sausage is made that's really inside baseball so.
Of course we understand that people -- to campaign wise -- the president.
It's criticize every time is on the campaign swing but the other side's allowed the -- debates and campaign and beat him up at every turn.
You know -- -- I -- talking about that from about Mike because.
I mean is a fair point to say that fundraising -- -- -- on the other side does not get as much play as it does right now focusing on the president I mean he has made.
It they have made a lot of that is it a billion dollars and he wants to raise middle of the headlines with the same time.
When George Bush was raising money you raise a lot of a lot of millions as well.
I mean I I agree with Alan I don't I don't know I think it's Breslin who whose ox is being -- -- your side that has the billion dollars.
You're you're sitting in the catbird seat -- you're sitting pretty so I I don't think I don't think it's a fair criticism I do think that that -- both of our sides try to find something to complain about about the other side fund raising is an inevitable part of this process there is something I'd say on tour toward about the president firing up.
That those -- that pair of 747 Jumbo jets and making campaign swings as he's the sitting president but that's not unique.
To a Democrat that was the same you know when when a Republican has been in office as well I just think the American people like to see the business of the people attended to right now -- were pretty bad shape.
Weather to much agreement here might be that accurate about but the -- I'd love to say.
I -- this they publicly financed campaign and and haven't done that -- so the big money gets out of politics entirely that would be the way to go.
And that meanwhile will.
While all this -- -- going out we're seeing very little -- I had Capitol Hill right now there are no major efforts to bring down the debt and I get this country back on track as we saw perhaps even six months ago.
Guys what's going on right now he's got it's probably just taking time off -- -- on the political election season saying enough we'll get to it after the election.
Well that's the -- let me Newman feels it feels like they're they're fiddling while Rome is burning and I and I got to point out did -- -- fund raising and and not get anything done.
I think Democrats are also wildly out of touch you've got Joseph Biden the other night -- it that it John -- soiree.
You know dining on on on troubled mushrooms and a 101000 dollar played.
Dinner and say Republicans are out of touch with the with the common man are you kidding me they wanted that there's well there's rank your pot.
See here.
Well I'm sure the -- runny -- the owner of the place where they had a couple mushroom look up I mean I like that but I got we can find another guerrilla leaders are in this campaign.
-- quickly -- it -- what frustrates the public the fact that they are really -- really hurting still in this country and yet congress seems to be dragging its heels.
To try to -- any meaningful legislation to get things moving.
Well you have met and I'm Mitch McConnell who vowed.
At the beginning of this cycle that his whole goal was to get Obama out of office they're not interested in doing anything that can read down.
For the benefit of Barack Obama -- -- -- any kind of an edge if -- you know that to be the case and so nothing is gonna get done until after the election they don't want it to get done which is why congress is such a low approval rating.
It's why it's why we've got to make sure Republicans get the house and the senate in the White House in November had a lot of good that we have that we have to have lots of change in Washington DC and then we'll get both.
-- -- this country back on track and the last time that the Republicans had all three all two branches and probably the third if they've got the judicial they've got the Supreme Court how well that things go last time not do well well I -- -- it's not about -- not as bad as we are right now are euthanized and were injured today Allen yes better ball better better.
-- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- --
