I'm busy morning for Mitt Romney's campaign an -- responding to a whole bunch of attacks on their rivals.

After senior advisor used an Etch A Sketch metaphor.

To explain it whether the primary battle.

Will make Romney look too conservative.

In the end come general election time.

And hear the comments that got so much attention watch.

I think he had to reset button for the fall campaign everything changes it's almost like an Etch A Sketch you can kind of shake it up and we start all over again.

And tonight attention joined now by former New Hampshire governor Johnson you -- he's in -- -- supporter.

And we're glad to have him back again with us this morning mr.

Sununu welcome.

What do you mean -- -- Sunday inside well what would it what do you make this whole Etch A Sketch of the discussion.

Mitt Romney's Mitt Romney's talking about creating jobs and Rick santorum's waiting -- stories in the air it's from the sublime to the ridiculous.

If you want to know how conservative Mitt Romney as you look at how we govern.

As governor he cut spending he turned a three billion dollar deficit to a surplus.

He cut taxes nineteen times he stood for life.

He supported traditional marriage he opposed cap and trade that's governing like a real conservative governor.

And and he has put forward in this campaign.

A set a specific conservative proposals that he will use to be president when he is president.

And those proposals have been recognized.

As the most conservative comprehensive proposals since Ronald Reagan ran for president.

And and so now -- have Rick Santorum and and Newt Gingrich reaching in their desk and pulling out kiddie -- yes.

-- that questions they -- as to whether or not that makes them look on presidential.

And I adding that's a valid point to bring up because it it was sort of a bizarre.

Optic as they say in politics but you know I just went mentioned in this way it doesn't -- campaign because there have been you know several events over recent weeks where it met Ronnie himself said something that ends up being the story the next day and that getting the attention whether it's comments about.

How about the money or things along those lines so now you've got this comment.

And it basically feeds right into the hands of those who want to call on a look whopper.

By saying you can take it just gets to shake it up and -- you got a whole news story.

-- in -- general election time the problem is that it ends up becoming the story is that -- this data for the campaign.

Well you know you say things that are as dumb as Rick Santorum saying he's not concerned about unemployment.

You say things as dumb as -- Rick santorum's spouting off when he went down to Puerto Rico that happens in campaigns.

There is a difference however between general elections.

And primary elections in primaries you're running in one state or a handful of states at a time.

In general elections you're running nationwide simultaneously.

You have to have a different campaign structure.

You have to have different resources out there at a different network of communicate.

Let me ask is because the question that was asked of Eric -- -- who has been on the show many times you know we talked to over the years in the last couple of campaigns and he's been a very strong supporter.

That -- but the question was whether or not.

The prolonged primary process here has forced Mitt Romney to go you know further.

Right that he would have liked to have gone and when he gets to the general election it will he need to sort of go more to the middle to pull back again.

The independent voters that he may lose if he's push right this process that's -- what the question was and the answer was well when he gets it down election.

You know you shake it up -- -- at Etch A Sketch and we start from scratch.

Look how how much further right can you go than being a governor that cut spending.

Cuts taxes stands for life.

Stands for traditional marriage and opposes cap and trade.

And and and how much further to the right can you go than making an absolute commitment to get rid of Obama -- starting day one.

These these guys that that the two guys that are out there as losers now mr.

Gingrich and mr.

Santorum.

Are grasping at straws in grasping at toys the fact is is that Mitt Romney was a conservative governor.

As a conservative platform that he has put out as a commitment to how we will govern as president.

And and I think Rick Santorum someday is gonna look back at this silly waving of a toy.

Trying to make a point as one of his most embarrassing moments in the campaign.

Was a bit different yet just gets folks that I just think it's senator reminded all of us is -- -- -- -- -- at right at a classic great.

Back -- to I mr.

I don't know Arabian person I'm a frisbee person myself up.

No I did historically it allows you to sort of greater heights and -- adapting well client will push it out for the frisbee.

Good come out a -- faking this isn't you know always get -- -- yet.
