Now talking about finding jobs.

And on the job hunt something that we like to do here at Fox News Channel is make it easier for you if -- -- to put some cash in the bank.

And and do -- do a great job best college majors.

He's got a lot of people coming out of college now and they make up the largest -- so I've read of people who are unemployed.

So what -- best majors to find out this guy's got to be one of the most popular -- on campus.

If any kind of volley.

Director of Georgetown center for education in the workforce good morning doctor good to see you.

Good morning good to see you well I think you gotta be popular -- you actually can tell us what some of the most up popular.

If things -- what what works out best if you're just graduating.

The lowest -- recent college undergraduate majors.

Let's start there if you're coming at a college architecture arts humanities and liberal arts -- gosh that's that doesn't sound like fun.

The the job -- -- in the majors that paid tend to be the technical majors.

The highest paid major.

Which is worth about even starting salary about 85000 who would you want it up.

Petroleum engineer.

Pitch I am I don't have that on I recommend.

No I don't either -- If indeed there is huge variation it is something that young people need to know.

And that is what you make any way you work will all depend on what you take.

Just getting the degree isn't enough you have to have a strategy around your major.

What you make depends on what you take.

I'm writing this down because you are the guy in the -- the highest employed recent college -- undergraduate majors so those kids are coming out.

Were studying the right things they do the one thing that we want to have happen.

That's what I know with what I can do meaning get a job and and -- some good cash.

They are doctor or health education agricultural and natural resources tell me about it.

Those degrees which tend to be -- do degrees and a sense.

Everybody hail can't thank them.

As opposed to.

Liberal arts humanities in more general kinds of learning that don't necessarily.

Prepare you didn't do much they can prepare you'd think well and that's their benefit.

Interest thing like I said.

I think.

That's how my dad put it by the way can see said.

It I was gonna be a liberal arts major and he said well I know what that means you work critical thinker and I'm proud of you but I also wanted to be able to physically do something because things will change.

That was it you know that was decades ago now.

Course and only 29 again.

That what advice are you giving students at this point I mean if you're halfway through college it's going to be difficult for then switch gears or maybe it -- I don't think it is no matter what you take if you are a major in art that's fine.

-- you should do -- to love to do but.

In the end you've got to get a strategy so if you're gonna major in art get a teaching certificate because you can teach art or get a management.

Degree.

As a minor instead of with -- art major and you can work in a museum.

You have to have a strategy in at some point you have to take something you can sell it's that simple.

-- interest -- wow that is some great advice we are talking with.

Doctor -- -- valley about the best college majors to find a job I want to put some more words up on the screen.

You mentioned one of them the highest paying majors.

Petroleum engineering.

Pharmaceutical sciences and math and computer sciences -- -- kids apart doesn't surprise me so much for pharmaceutical.

Pharmaceuticals is an existing -- has risen enormously.

With health care and the aging of the American population and among the highest paid.

Majors it is unique in that the majority of the people worry -- women.

Mostly manner in engineering and petroleum engineering and other technical degrees the women have broken through.

In pharmacy.

And then the last thing I wanna take a look at is the lowest paying majors -- and the caveat here you're saying is that look.

It's nothing you don't follow your heart -- your heart has to have a strategy if you're going to pay your bills.

Social work and human services and community organizations.

Theology and religious vocations and by the way I don't think this is news right doctor.

It is been the case for a long time says the people who frankly.

Somewhat sadly people who spend a lot of their time helping other people.

Make the least money but it is always business.

-- those majors have.

Paid the least and in difficult times the unemployment rates are relatively high.

While.

So you probably hear from students on a regular basis how to why strategize how to -- take what I know.

And and -- you say find out if you're an art major maybe you can sell something what are the options really out there and and I would imagine social networking is probably helping to.

In the end you just got to think two steps ahead.

Too many young Americans go to college with.

A one single goal and that is to graduate but graduating.

Won't do it now not all college degrees are created equal.

And young people need to hear that in the best way to find out whether or not the program that -- -- we'll get to job.

Used to talk to the people who were in it before you wore -- ask your professors about the people were in it before you and what happened to them.

If that's still true that maybe you're teaching because you couldn't find a job because we were in college people -- disable so so -- teaching the subject because they couldn't get a job.

The gosh -- without teachers none of us will be Smart right.

Doctor Anthony kind of -- the director of Georgetown center for education and the workforce giving us the best college majors -- -- -- circuit having here this morning thank you.
