Last week Rush Limbaugh the great L rush -- had some issues with -- your humble political analyst.
On the obamacare hearings.
We'll start with some of the -- of my -- it's actually that rush played on his show and then Russia's reaction.
The consequence politically is what's being debated in Washington does this help president Obama's reelection campaign if -- health care act is.
-- as unconstitutional by the court or does it hurt Republicans.
I know Juan Williams I've been interviewed by one and I like won -- but why did you even.
Hear what the bill says is here we are once again analyzing the political ramifications for Obama.
And former republic -- for the people.
What about for the citizens of this country who are going to lose a significant.
Amount of freedom what about the constitution.
Well.
You know why it's hard for me to argue with a man who's got happens brain tied behind his back.
But he is right.
I'm just just -- I'm just telling you what was going on in Washington.
Right then it was a very simple conversation about the political consequences.
Of what the supreme court's ruling on health -- might be but I will say that in terms of the constitution Reich.
Remember that a very conservative court the DC appeals court.
Laurence Silberman remember that conservative jurists said you know what this is constitutional fact.
Two of the four courts that -- ruled -- is that it was -- in terms of the people Reich let me just say this if you're seeing here and you're dealing with prescription drugs in the doughnut hole.
Guess what obamacare helps you if you want your kid to stay on your insurance plan to least -- six obamacare helped you.
If you're someone who doesn't have insurance guess what obamacare helps keep these are all three realities that are people gonna have to deal with -- the politics though.
That's what I was trying to say to the great Rush Limbaugh.
Of course Obama -- helps you but it didn't it but you -- up the second part of the equation for how much.
It says let's take here's the here's the here's the purpose of a -- a -- get here's free stuff.
And it is it's free but the next step is we are now bankrupt it's like your dad Bob -- by boat -- you can't pay the red it's great boat.
-- but Russia's first part of the first equation that you brought up was not a question of all those other goodies that a lot of people could agree with and I actually think that.
Pats in a bipartisan fashion the question is on the constitutionality of one provision and that's individual and -- reference they had -- -- -- courts have said it's.
Having -- -- from a -- that the question it's now and front of the Supreme Court is question is in his.
Point wasn't about the announcers of all the good stuff that comes with the bill that people might like accident like twenty.
Kid's been -- -- be advocate parents' insurance and -- 26 thing is ridiculous but.
Regardless that wasn't what rush was talking about he -- -- About the one thing -- some from the Supreme Court he also is that what about the people you know what about the but the people that he's and I -- two thirds of the people think that it's unconstitutional back on it yes it still -- -- there's people say.
Okay you know what else pulled out a little doubtful after all there's no one it.
Repealed but a lot of those people think it should have done more should have a public option well.
But I'm certainly is that we we brought the -- last week a couple of times 68% of people think that the individual mandate portion of the bill should be repealed.
That -- -- consonants unconstitutional and it doesn't mean they don't like the other stuff so but but but here's -- by the way rush come.
Half is -- tied behind his back.
That's not ninety -- like we -- little.
-- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- That's what he says he says that's what rush but yeah.
Bites people with one when -- part is -- I can't believe you don't live until Limbaugh then I think you meant then yeah.
But what did -- getting to the point -- say that given -- -- yeah I.
-- a -- like it up yeah.
Ultimately we just point out I think what rush is saying is -- Obama is politicizing the obamacare debate when the American people frank.
This day and it rightly points out don't want why is there are still a discussion let's just move on Supreme Court has it -- -- -- on the.
I can't just stay with me focus my business I thought this this man -- DL yes I think it beats me.
-- villains out.
Here's the thing -- -- -- -- separation of powers and within its Supreme Court and put in this unenviable position of trying to put a check on the most massive expansion.
Of the federal government trying to take over now health care which we clearly cannot pay for and with an individual mandate is unconstitutional.
That's why they're taking issue it no it's like I'm against kids that are sick -- people that pre existing conditions of people want to take -- -- children.
That's an issue that conservatives are Republicans are saying we don't wanna take care of sick people are we -- -- -- old ladies.
Worst saying beat fiscally responsible.
And if there isn't a way to pay for it and if this is not an enumerated power within the constitution for the government to do it.
And it must be struck out justice Guilfoyle here's the problem.
If you have five Republicans voting against it in four Democrats voting for it.
How would strike the American people in the aftermath of bush V gore in the aftermath of Citizens United.
That in fact.
The courts not looking at the constitutionality.
If it isn't really look -- -- -- thing and then you're disparaging the court and saying that they only engage in political pandering.
That they would in fact only go with the will of the person that appointed and based on that partisan affiliation I shouldn't that is not what exactly why -- clean air thing that is exact number.
But -- and I -- -- I -- -- as early on because you could see from Bob's comments -- -- and all summer along that.
If the court rules against it then that's their right wing hacks but if they will -- and it's been the case is settled.
And that the political expediency of that argument that President Obama is making is not lost on the American people which is why.
They are just gonna put their trust in the Supreme Court a trusted institution.
And they will.
Abide by whatever it's just decided.
Well you know what.
Let it be but I'm just telling you the credibility of this court after bush V gore Citizens United.
A lot of Americans on the Kennedy if I've part of the polarization we -- in congress now have.
The -- if it says Kennedy votes.
In favor of something that the Democrat -- are more than that -- it's a good -- look good.
That's what are you is -- that camera first asked to be true let me just say when you're playing very good part of that morning again and.
And others and people know about swing votes and people know about the court being an independent institution but what we've seen in recent years as they become more -- had.
-- -- Consequences decline in areas where event that's the majors I think that they'll -- an argument for defeating Mitt run abide by the constant -- or all right coming out or higher -- network TV wars in the works big time Katie Couric is.
Morning television has been turned upside down and we've got the best moments.
When you come right back.
