Welcome back everybody here's a question the day is there a widening gender gap among the GOP and Democrats.

Little over 53% of you say yes -- about 28%.

And not -- 18% in this kind of goes this ties into area USA today Gallup poll just released Wisconsin and eleven other swing states.

And it says according to this appalling appalling way they've they've praise to Republicans have a woman problem.

So let's bring -- down from -- DC Charlotte -- Levine a former senior counsel Senate Judiciary Committee former RNC spokesman good to see yeah.

Good to see you sell what do you have to say about this I mean -- in this survey on.

Obama and Mitt Romney are tied among male voters basically tied among male voters.

But the president France's Romney.

When it comes to women.

Well first of what I think's going to happen is swing we have one nominee I really think that.

Those numbers are going to tighten and part of it is.

Although they've done the poll against just Romney and Obama.

I think what that poll reflects is all the various types of comments we've heard.

Particularly during the HHS contraception debate yeah I think -- all being put on Romney so that's what's going on.

And let me just bring up in particular.

The comments that Santorum.

Has made.

And Santorum has the right based on his beliefs to feel however he wants about contraception.

But what I think that perception has been particularly among independent women.

Is they find that somewhat limiting and even some have gone so first to say you know day they they find Nat.

I'm a bit chauvinist we know what's been said in the in the -- and polls right out santorum's positions right but he has every right to feel that way because this is America but.

The problem is those perceptions and the wave that this debate played out.

Is what I think -- seeing reflected in -- poll what has if you go ahead go ahead of us are.

So if you it but if you break it down and I know leaking it to that later in the discussion we can talk about -- The Republicans I think are much stronger than the Democrats have certain issues okay when it comes to Obama care.

When it comes to the economy I mean we are much stronger let's just go back to the economy let's talk about gas prices well it's women.

And it's mothers who are filling out those minivans -- tick tick tick.

The number keeps going up.

Third don't want that are gonna be able to go to the -- -- -- this summer because gas is too expensive so what's the Democrats and what's this president's plans for gas prices to blame it on George Bush to say there's not much that he can do about it.

Now of a sudden you see him coming up with all these kind of Johnny come lately options.

Yes you're the precedent sorry you are responsible and yes there are things.

And again.

The Republicans are coming up with options we're trying to come up with energy options but yet it out.

-- the Democrats for some reason again when you take all these issues.

In perspective they're still trying to take the credit for.

Being the ones who support women when in fact I think Republicans let's go back to obamacare on the second issue.

You know Obama care means.

More Barack Christie.

Less choices.

And and more headaches women as you know me when -- 80% of all health care decisions in our family.

I know I do in the -- on the phone with the house insurance company trying to figure out what's -- by the pediatrician or not with Obama care.

If this in fact is up -- Mothers are gonna have less choices and another thing I've heard.

Many of them.

People who are some supporters Obama -- say things like mammograms will be covered well I'll tell you what's not going to be covered.

In obamacare they want to say that pap smears now will only be covered every three years sorry let me tell you.

HP as one of the fastest growing -- TDs.

-- monks.

Women and our and our country.

And if you're now only going to have pap smears every three years under Obama care.

That's a serious problem for women will win -- I mean what women will sit there and we'll tell you -- that's a series probably have to go and you have to get that checked regularly.

And it just -- it's absolutely as a non starter.

And yes and that.

Going to do it and -- I was just gonna say -- and and that is that is going to be very that is very you know it it's why he is getting slammed for Obama care.

But very quickly.

What can Republicans do from here on out I guess what can Mitt Romney do because essentially what let's be honest he seems to be the front runner in this one.

Does seem to be different when I got.

I think what we need to do is focus on academic issues all right one the economy while -- and I guess -- -- yes.

But also of the fact that women comprise the majority of people starting small businesses.

What does this administration done for small business.

We've seen you know a decrease copy civilian jobs we've seen a decrease in the number of people starting businesses -- what I.

Beck -- on the air you don't you can't -- You know at first like tax rates number one you can't plan if you don't the tax rates are going to be so why he won a -- higher number 20.

We now that Obama care is going to hurt small businesses so.

Gas prices.

Small businesses how that's going to hurt small business and how that's going -- hurt women.

And again -- three.

The job numbers what has this what has this administration done for unemployment.

What what kind of plans are they coming up went to look and how we're going to get this country back on track another issue -- the deficit.

Here we saw the president knew this was his opportunity.

To really beat LBJ to be the president who you know exudes leadership and instead he took paths on -- -- discussion.

He took a pass John Boehner says.

Calls went un answered from the White House here was his opportunity to really be a leader on the deficit discussion.

And we didn't see him exercise that -- -- leadership.

So if you look at these hardcore.

Economic issues I'm not seeing how the president is really benefiting women.

On that note Sherlund Harley and the bond -- we say thank you very much for joining us today and new we will see against -- think it is my pleasure being with yet.
