Yeah.

Hello welcome to help -- I'm Dr.

Manny.

After years of research and thousands of children on the autism spectrum.

Doctor -- harbor and neurology professor at Harvard Medical School says the disorder is not necessarily -- handicap.

-- -- can actually be reversed she's here today to talk about her new book the autism revolution whole body solutions for making live all it can be.

Thank you for being here dot com.

Thanks Manny so you know your book you know I have an autistic child as everybody knows -- I keep talking.

I'm so proud of -- and all the changes that he has made but you know getting the information was never easy and in your book you make some.

Significant pretty bold statements about that the everything that is what to some tell me a little bit about some of those things that you write on the book.

Well first of all I think science is telling us.

That autism is not necessarily.

A fixed life sentence because people improve sometimes a little bit.

And sometimes a lot and sometimes even they even stay improved.

So we're learning that that's a lot that's changeable.

In -- How -- and I told -- statement because I do agree with -- that -- my son has improved over the years -- fourteen now but.

This it does have fallen to -- the fact that people can get better of the then they can regress back to autism.

A little bit more severe and you.

We find even in people who don't get remarkably better is that they seem to do.

Better in many of their functions over time they seem to develop ways to adapt the -- seem to figure things out.

But what I'm saying is that with some effort you can make that be a lot more to -- Now what do you think.

Is the reason what is one of them is there a single cause for -- Personally.

I don't think there's a cause for a one cause I think that it's -- pileup of many different things that overwhelms your system.

OK so can we say that there's a genetic component to it guides you effort and yeah I think -- a genetic component probably varies from person to person.

It is there an environmental component I mean -- opened the pandora's box and put able vaccines Mercury.

And exposure.

Of any vaccines Mercury.

What about toxic chemical and what about gay yeah household products that we don't know what they be so you do that this lot of things giving to this environmental combatants -- a lot of other people right now -- just me.

And a lot of science is coming up to support us now why do you think that parents are so.

Hung up on vaccinations.

Well they see their child.

Who seems to be okay.

And then they see their child slip away from them.

And if it happens close to a vaccination.

It seems like the vaccination triggered.

This regression right.

And yet in some other people we question like that occurs even though there have been no vaccinations.

Some parents who don't -- to make the second child the same thing happened.

If we believe that it's that.

Then that there is a predisposition.

On these children to develop autism as -- get a little bit older but really the Genesis of that.

You know neural chemistry.

Is already in the warm developing in the war may be.

Some of bits in the -- but I think it's like a snowball effect.

You may have been immune or chemical predisposition.

In the -- -- genetic.

But it's still depends.

On what you eat and how many infections you have.

And how many stresses there are as to whether that predisposition.

Will turn into autism or whether it will not.

-- let's get you a little upset.

Sure what is your bid biggest.

Criticism that you have in regards to the -- doctors are treating -- -- -- today.

I think that they are waiting too long.

To try and help out.

Kids develop even an infancy all kinds of medical problems like ear infections over and over again or sleep or college.

And people say that's okay and then the kid turns and to someone who's -- what I think is that we should be promoting it's much wellness as we -- Especially in kids who -- at high risk.

From as early as we had.

And that we should also goal for the best -- each possible -- not to settle once they have enough to those who use a high risk.

How would a parent know that his -- as I look at this two ways to -- that you have hybrid one of them if you have an old child with -- ought to work or family history.

Of -- to -- or autoimmune diseases.

Or various other psychiatric.

The other one is your kid starts to be.

We currently -- not just an ear infection that goes to wait but two with three of five or ten.

And they have to get a lot of antibiotics they're not sleeping they may not be at risk for -- but they're at risk for being chronically ill and for me.

What I think and what I think we'll come to.

In the big world of sciences that autism is really chronic illness it's not just the development that the that the chronic illness right and I think in order to avoid that when you keep your child.

Really is healthy as possible doing the best you can with food doing the best you can with sleep.

And avoiding junk and avoiding.

Toxics and avoiding processed things because -- child when there at risk needs to have the best possible.

Possible support that now is that the reason you see that autism can be reversed.

I think ought to some can be.

-- -- in severity.

And in some cases people really have gotten over the diagnosis of the NIH's study people like this.

And in many cases you can just be improved a lot and have a lot easier life a lot more functional a lot more independence.

Pick up the book the bogus -- The autism revolution.

Whole body solutions from making life only can be so it's a -- -- book written by you know.

That's there is when it comes to this these these types of information thank you for being here great stuff thank you.

Added you have out -- -- -- -- to be about email me your thoughts about the many of foxnews.com until next time -- document.
