New information on dozens of bomb threats at the University of Pittsburgh these threats began two months ago leaving students and the faculty on edge and by mid afternoon yesterday they were four more threats meanwhile security is taking extraordinary measures to lock down the campus.

Ken trump is president of the national school safety and security services bill -- -- -- former FBI investigator and senior vice president of control risks security consulting.

Good to see you both built up you know the bomb -- began in February but they've been escalating.

It's no longer just one building we're talking about multiple targets.

On campus so far about 25 threats what do you make of this.

Well gray and -- to me it seems as those that perpetrate or perpetrators of of these threats.

Are increasingly -- they're kind of -- line in the sand with the administration with a trying to do is is show perhaps how Smart they are how they're able to kind of course.

-- -- disruption to the school.

And in some ways and concern that.

As this goes on further and it tightened security that they may not -- -- to.

A Carrie at some other threat against universities to show that they're still out there and and able to do it.

Can authorities say some other threats came via email when in fact traced to a computer and Austria.

But that's really led nowhere.

And now some other threats or even showing up hand written on walls on campus.

Given all of that -- your experience typically who would this be.

It's very common that the individual involved with this or individuals -- somebody that has some connection to the schooling question that's current or former student.

A disgruntled former current employee someone with some.

Knowledge in close proximity there's always the possibility that -- someone who's far making a random throughout the chances are someone associated with the school which could be.

Eventually a good lead for investigators and a challenge with the Internet.

-- means law enforcement has the serve subpoenas tracked that down the good news is that's a lot easier in the long run.

To detect and it is just a random threats so it's gonna take some time and then meanwhile you're gonna get continued threats.

What really got her attention here.

Bill was the letter of the pro votes sent out to the students the faculty the staff.

When he quoted will put it up on the screen the university will limit access to buildings once they have been swept in clear.

It's important understand that book bags backpacks and packages.

Will not be allowed.

-- -- Is it college campus for goodness -- gotta have books -- Well you know Greg in the near term -- seems to be a way to address both the issue of confidence that the administration is trying to do something proactive as well as address the immediate.

Concern that somebody might bring some device into the buildings.

And so.

I think near term this -- it sounds a bit kind of you know -- and street extreme especially for a college campus.

Setting I think right now this is what they have to do in order to contain it to sweep those buildings to know that.

If a threat does come in that -- restate minimal chance -- something actually got into the building.

And can now there limiting every building can only use one.

Egress access.

-- got long lines of students trying to get through just one tiny little entrance.

Some profits have now given up and they're holding their classes outdoors whenever possible.

Are you concerned -- all of the the automatic evacuations.

That have been taking place may be the wrong approach.

The best practice contrary to what's in this sort of intuitive to the -- person is to reevaluate.

The threat on a case by case basis by school of law enforcement.

To avoid automatic evacuations of one of the bigger concerns.

Unless there's an obvious the device there's -- immediate imminent threat but the biggest concern is when you have professors individually choosing to go outside of that the security procedures and take someone outside.

To all classes that could expose them to greater.

Outside visibility and a potential target for active for she is shooting or other type of violent attack outside and if they stayed inside to work with their security officials up.

They'll of that person who's going off on their own may have good intentions that of that security that's heightened is going to mean -- the inconvenience as well.

Now sad situation Ken trump Bild daily gentlemen thank you I think thanks Greg.
