Maybe there's even at the White House came over.
But this game as long long long way from over.
We are going to continue to go out there and and fight to make sure that we defeat president Barack Obama.
That we win the house back and that we take the United States senate.
And we stand for the values.
That make us Americans.
Rick Santorum officially suspending.
His campaign for president some 309 days after he first announced that he was running but saying the fight for him is not over.
And suggesting he will in fact work to secure the nomination.
And the election I should say of the presumptive nominee at this point Mitt Romney.
-- joining me now Crist.
Also Joseph Trippi ends got arrested a standing by I would let Brett go because it's -- to be showed a pair for a night tonight at -- and we hope you'll all watch it Scott let me let me talk to you because originally.
You're gonna c'mon you're gonna talk about the numbers right now that a potential Mitt Romney Barack Obama campaign would be looking at in terms of American support right now.
The real clear politics average of all polls gives the president a substantial lead I guess he's up five point 3%.
Verses around -- contest that's that's with an average of all polls.
What does that I don't that's not your -- it includes one of your polls what does that tell you at this point in April to show the president five points ahead.
-- -- -- Well you know the polling has really shown that Mitt Romney and the president are very close very competitive but about ten or 12%.
Of the voters.
Are not committed to either candidate and what's really fascinating about that is that among that group President Obama has just take 22%.
Approval rating.
So these are people that the president's gonna have a hard time winning.
You'd think that's good news for Mitt Romney but the question is if that -- happy with the president why aren't they Romney supporters right now.
This gets right back to the same type of disconnect.
That you're mentioning earlier with a white working class voters and others.
There's a lack of enthusiasm.
As you're looking at things right now the good news of her name is Mitt Romney is not just that you've become the presumptive nominee.
But it's also the fact the starting right now the focal point of the race shifts up until today it's been all about Mitt Romney could he win the Republican nomination.
Now it's going to be all about Barack Obama can he defend his record.
How important will it be jealous somebody who's run campaigns and then had candidates lead the races will -- be for the American people for the Republican voters to see.
Rick Santorum.
And others who had had their hats in this -- get behind Mitt Romney and make a forceful case for him.
Why it's it's important because you have to bring your base together before you can you can start reaching out there or at least it's better to add to to have that.
But.
But Scott's aptly -- I mean that all of us to be everybody's been focused on the Republican side and the whole question of whether Romney can do this or not.
Now all the focus does shift it's -- now two man race Barack Obama Mitt Romney that puts much more focus on the president and there has been.
And the fight begins in earnest in it and it if you look at the numbers today.
Regardless of edge here edge there there are problems with women with Romney and independents that that that that some of that -- will will close up.
But the body in the end this is going to be a very close race I I think going into November is is much as there is an advantage right now for the president.
The focus does turn to him that helps Romney.
In the race we'll get closer particularly coming out the Republican Convention.
-- want to tell our our viewers that.
Newt Gingrich -- just on Mike Huckabee is new radio show and has discussed finally getting to be one on one with Mitt Romney.
Saying he did not get a heads up about Rick santorum's.
Announcement.
He says I'm not focused on going after Romney I want to focus on the issues and Barack Obama.
That's similar to what is said on FOX News Sunday but the realities for him delegate wise art that Romney is the presumptive nominee.
As we get ready to head door heart -- I want to ask you quickly Chris -- alt.
What do we expect now see.
From the mainstream media when it comes to coverage of Mitt Romney.
A lot more scrutiny a lot tougher even than it's been he's in for it he better be ready for it.
