-- in the morning everybody -- the midwest is really just out there pick it up the pieces this morning they had a weekend of extremely.

Rough weather out there we got some grainy pictures that are coming in at the damage done by Tony is that look like best look at that that's like something right out of a movie.

A hundred tornadoes at least they believe touchdown.

In cities and towns from Kansas.

To Minnesota.

Leveling in some cases everything that was in their path and that's how it started up.

This Monday morning.

Glad that -- as everybody else I can account I'm Gregg Jarrett in for Bill Hemmer so Bassett is and it -- really frightening and then look at this this is the aftermath.

In hard hit Woodward Oklahoma six people including three children lost their lives in that city survivors across the midwest now.

Assessing the damage.

They started pretty early morning yesterday with a tornado watches and storms in what -- -- and then.

This torn right after -- -- and wave after wave of storms.

Come out straight Addison and I become apparent turn just one that hit here.

It was -- after midnight last night.

If this you're -- edge of town thank goodness.

Mike Tobin is on the scene there at live in Wichita Kansas this morning so Mike what does it look like.

Out there on the ground where you are.

Well -- -- -- the first time anyone's got to look into this oak lawn neighborhood which took a direct hit from that tornado now estimated as an EF three.

That would mean it had winds of a 136265.

Miles per hour.

What you get with -- EF three tornado structures that have significant damage but structures that are still in place.

That's what we're looking at here what I can also see from this is just how much debris was blown around by those funnel clouds and just sand blasted up against the side of these buildings.

It looks like this particular tornado skipped along and I can tell you that because.

This street has a lot of damage significant damage you go to streets over.

And all of the house's luck.

Like they're relatively in good shape and one other thing -- -- out TO summit that the search and rescue crews have been leaving behind all of these markings became familiar with those during Katrina.

That indicates that this building has been not searched we know now that day in Kansas anyway.

There were no fatalities as a result of all these tornadoes month.

Pretty amazing Mike that the death toll is not higher in that area given what happened there what are the authorities saying about how.

That came today.

Well it is remarkable they're now saying about a 120 tornadoes touched down and only one of those tornadoes resulted in fatalities there are two reasons given for that.

Most of the tornadoes swept across uninhabited land.

But the other big reason they authorities say there haven't been more fatality is because people took the warning seriously.

They got to shelters they were underground when the tornadoes passed overhead much.

-- goodness good training and good prevention thank you so much Mike Mike Tobin.

In which -- this morning.

Right.
