All fired up he made his first public appearance since undergoing heart transplant surgery look -- how well he seems to be -- Not holding back -- when it came to the discussion of politics and that's how we started -- an hour this morning of America's Newsroom glad to have you with us on this Monday morning I'm Martha MacCallum.
Good to see I'm Gregg Jarrett in for Bill Hemmer.
Cheney spoke at a GOP state convention in Wyoming this weekend unleashing.
So pretty scathing remarks about President Obama.
Can't think of -- time.
When I felt it was more important.
For us to defeat incumbent president and then today with respect to Barack Obama think he has them.
And and -- unmitigated disaster for the country.
Since comments -- -- -- -- joining me now Fox News senior political analyst -- breaking and good morning Brett good to have you with good morning hours so the obviously Dick Cheney has never been one to hold back and it seems that all that he's been -- physically it's it's incredible to see walk out that stage after having a heart transplant.
But he still -- sees no reason to hold back.
Well if it is if it is remarkable.
That after transplant surgery only weeks ago that he comes out on that -- -- -- before the operation he was barely get around at all -- in wheelchairs some time.
He comes out walks out sits down and talk for an hour and fifteen minutes.
Mean I get tired talking for this fifteen minutes and -- have mine.
You know fuel pump -- so and I guess -- -- -- astonishingly was even through part of what he said it was remarkable and he could -- it sets it.
It it truly was and you know I guess you think about President Bush who has basically been under the radar in terms of his assessments of the Obama administration more -- you know of the Dick -- really never you know felt the need to play that -- -- -- What what do you think is his role in this election if Fannie will sort of.
Today exists and is that there's a large figure and when he talks as this weekend proved and as the number of prior instances.
Proved as well when he talks it makes news.
So when he comes out says what he said about Barack Obama people are gonna hear about that and I think.
-- what he said is is important on a couple levels one is that.
It reflects the sentiment of a lot of conservative Republicans.
That Barack Obama has not really been a poor president or an effective president or -- -- president or unsuccessful president.
There's a belief in those quarters that he has been an atrocious president.
And I suspected that news.
Cheney is hoping that sentiment will be a motivate her.
For people to turn out and vote particularly conservatives who may not be that enthused about Mitt Romney so and of course you heard him say that.
You know the party needs to unite behind Mitt Romney so I think he'll be -- voice if he chooses to.
That's throughout the rest of this campaign season.
-- remarkable and do in his physical ability as well as you WellPoint outbreak let's have a little bit about David Axelrod who has some interesting comments over the weekend.
I'm FOX News Sunday here's we had to say.
The choice in this election is between an economy.
A growing middle class and that gives people a chance to get ahead in their kids a chance to get ahead.
And an economy that continues down the road we're on we're a fewer and fewer number of people do very well and everybody else is running faster and faster just to keep pace.
So when you say you know to continue down the road we're on that raise a lot of eyebrows -- -- maybe was uses in talking points from the last time around.
In the last election when he said that does that strike you as I.
Well -- -- a little bit about what Mark Twain said about Wagner is.
A music it that he said it.
He said it was better than it sounds good -- and what axle rod clearly who is meaning I was here yesterday and watched the interview here in the studio -- with the rest of the members of the panel and an act we we -- struck by that particularly because it was at least clear to us in the context of the whole interview.
That he was talking about a longer term trend in the country occasioned by the bush tax cuts -- other economic policies.
That have put us on this path of Barack Obama has been trying to change.
That was what he was obviously getting of course standing by itself if you hear it there it's another -- as we gotta get away from what he.
The Obama team have been doing which is obviously not what he intended but it's I mean I -- -- -- on on my Twitter -- last night -- it was lit up -- this stuff there and everybody -- linking to the sound -- saying that -- you know saying it acts -- endorsed Romney is on though.
As -- things happen.
No doubt day it nobody wasted any time get on that Brit thank you sound like it's okay this is our -- takes you to.
