So that's not the way we operate our our tax system okay if we don't run bake sales it's not about volunteerism.

We all -- in.

According to the system.

That was president Obama's chief political advisor David act.

Axelrod.

Talking to Chris Wallace on FOX News Sunday about why the president will not voluntarily.

Increase his own tax payments to match those of his secretary and this is power play.

Internet.

The president is looking for an album another week in which to talk about what he says -- inequality in the tax system.

By those top owners like oh I don't know somebody named Willard Mitt Romney maybe who happens to them relatively -- tax rate even if it's on my tax dollar because he generates a lot of his money from investments.

We're gonna talk about that today.

We're gonna talk about the GS today boondoggle that took place at Las Vegas and how Republicans are trying to rub the noses of the collective Democratic Party and -- today and for the rest of the week.

And we're going to talk to the -- -- the sage Michael Barone.

Will be with us to give us that overruled the overview the outlines for what the 2012 reelection.

Cycle is going to be like for President Obama it will be.

A raw Monday excellence and I can think of no better way to Begin this excellence to then to introduce you to any -- who you know very well.

Internet she's a former senior advisor -- senate majority leader Harry Reid and she has been a big -- spokesperson.

For a lot of big democratic -- And she is principal events strategies.

Charles hurt he's a columnist for The Washington Times.

They both as we always like to stipulate here love America.

Okay folks aside from the fact that it is.

In the parlance.

My people from the wabash river valley.

Southern Illinois and I'm hotter than oil out today in Washington.

Pull that pull food out of that maybe other -- of Virginia would say it.

But it's it's going to be almost ninety degrees in Washington today.

And part of the hope of the president this week is that that heat as tax day approach yes.

Will fall on Mitt Romney that he will feel the squeeze for paying about a 15% income tax rate on his income they tried last week with mitigated success.

Will they have more success this week -- -- -- -- book.

I mean I think -- -- Texas today it could not sort of come together more -- -- Four Republicans in terms of these others the scandals that are rocking.

-- -- spending scandals that that are going on right now.

-- -- that the jets and the GS saying the Secret Service in in South America and they did that didn't cost us any money to -- -- but that was -- -- of yeah.

-- yeah right there would have been -- I would say hey yeah.

-- would.

But nobody did think it is -- talk about the sort of the recklessness of government and its rhetoric and some years -- -- proposed but I also you can always leave it to Republicans somehow screwed up.

And that the deals -- turned in and do 222 Obama's advantage.

But you don't may have I think walks past -- was on something good there maybe we should fund the federal government but it makes it.

They do that that could be it could be that this solution all -- -- That's like the bumper sticker you remember that said you don't get great like it did a great day when schools have all the money they need the air force -- -- bake -- -- -- -- -- I would separate the fans are.

It's -- -- make peace yeah yeah they -- you -- defense would fund through like candy bar sale or something.

Like -- -- hey that's -- protecting the borders which is the number one.

Obligation of any government -- Would be okay with the with that's all right Pelé now the president we know this is one of these tricky things and politics.

What the president calls about the rule which is a mandatory minimum 30% tax on individuals.

Who have personal income of a million dollars or more per year.

It -- really well people like the idea of that that sounds good.

And they have been trying very hard to turn this into a real advantage against Romney who -- against 15% -- -- Can they make it stick.

He hit it -- Unfortunately we are right now -- in Washington is this legislation by 32 commercials and so this is really a direct attack.

To try to get the -- -- on the senate floor today so that Chuck Schumer and everybody else can go out with another 32 -- -- C they're really for the rich they're not for the poor and all those kind of things and unfortunately that's the game -- -- -- Washington.

Both sides need to have a comprehensive conversation about what we want to do going forward and that includes -- are real conversation with conservatives about the revenues that need to increase.

-- Democrats spending that needs to occur in their opinion fastest this money so.

I understand it is a very political move that -- White House is doing it pulls very very popular is why they pulled this one pitch out of their overall comprehensive.

But here in Washington and I'm afraid we're not I gonna happen in this election year we will -- to happy true conversation about.

Every penny only because the Internet likes you so much we will forgive you for this high minded bipartisan.

Orientation just for now -- are excited.

I'm on the question pummeling Mitt Romney with this.

The that the question is can Romney be made into a proxy.

We were resentments that Americans may have -- I think.

The community and I think he's had great damage coming -- of the primary because -- solidified a definition people already happened that he is.

Who grew wealthy and that he is out of touch and statements that he made some proposed state you know fumbles they say that he may have hurt yourself.

Only reinforces not even the Democrats you know throwing these heaps on -- case is that.

You know I don't mind I don't mind firing people don't like here I didn't.

And I -- You're really very very -- high school NASCAR -- the system that was that was it -- that was he in the mind immediately and John Kerry said who amongst -- doesn't look.

Are my good bounces go once that's pretty yeah.

Yes I do you think that this is a continuing -- that people already start to feel and believe -- -- video from.

I've been it's kind of curious about how he's been holding onto his tax returns and and you -- getting extensions and that.

And it's sort of mrs.

Romney government -- will get released McCain 23 years with.

But but but I do think it's sort of interesting that.

That -- he.

I sort of wonder exactly some sort of cat cat and mouse game here this if he but it does this long enough.

And draws enough people into attacking him this and then it releases all -- and it's it's there's just nothing there right I do think that it can backfire.

And and now and heard Democrats if their perceived as -- sort of beating up on a guy who's been very successful is very generous so.

Ahmed and they say I mean he's been running for president for ten years and he knows what these statements are saying and I think you can get at something positive to say he would try to put this behind Jimmie -- did you try to do is actually fleeing into a weakness and they get his strength so I think.

There is stuck there because he hasn't.

So any mention there's going to be this -- -- largely symbolic vote but there's going to be a vote in the US senate today or sometime very soon.

On this millionaire's tax millionaires and billionaires taxpayers.

So I -- -- will there.

You can go -- believe will there be democratic defections when this answer because in the past we've seen some resistance and from slopes on the -- team.

The president last week in street interviews in the districts of some of the in the states of some of these senators try to -- a little pressure.

Will -- there at least be a unanimous vote among the Democratic Caucus.

Joseph mansion is always on the you have to -- one and they're not and there are.

Millionaires and billionaires in West Virginia but there's a time millionaires and billionaires in the United States senate -- It's gonna be curious to see if they will vote -- -- -- pocketbook or not deletion is the one that I always like to watch to see them Nelson.

Still -- you know it what does he have to lose he's not.

Re election right you know he let me ask -- cornhuskers come back or anything like that so why not vote process.

I want to say.

Charlie what the Internet says about you all for juries has hurt.

I love the -- how did you pull that pull off.

Well well it's if you don't have if you're not oblige you then you don't see also it off.

And starts the night before right.

And it -- parlors if -- And one -- -- -- through rose suspected of with the two that comes from -- yes I'm from the word it exactly keeps it up -- it's -- -- -- -- and I thought process yeah and I.

I think processed.

Enjoy EB how about what -- -- that's one joy -- says I say.

This tax on the rich is just to take your eye off the ball he can raise the some meaning President Obama raise taxes on everybody that's sort of the Republican argument is -- -- -- the -- you can't allow targeted tax increases on anybody because nobody's taxes should go.

-- also think it that you're almost better off just going with the principal argument which is this notion that by default all the money you want somebody earns belongs to the government -- you can somehow prove or make good sensible argument that you are being allowed to keep it.

He's bunkers.

And you did and why Republicans cannot effectively make that argument and point to GSA and point all this nonsense.

Because on in in the government as evidence for why no actually you know what this it -- we would all be better if they got less money.

Because they don't do things very well and -- but -- -- Republicans as you know to go and do not make a very effective argument about it before.

-- -- where topic for segment two are good.

I wanna I wanna have you for the president.

How much does is this is something I noticed that was very unusual.

In one of those swing state interviews last week you guys from came out of the gate and Saint Louis says hey by the way you jet around on all of these expensive taxpayer financed trips.

When the president was down in Columbia.

He talked about bringing his wife and daughters back down for a vacation in the near term.

How much does the president's own.

And he has some considerable personal wealth but does his lifestyle affect his ability prosecute this political arm.

I mean we're at how the president travels is something that -- left the Secret Service and two enough to melt into the -- didn't -- Lee is up to his own security he can't Hampshire to cut costs he would rather cut costs.

-- those type that those type things but it is a security issue -- is something that we have to protect the president and how he travels as part.

And access your service will see more affordable entertainment when they -- and it's.

OK and.
