What happened here in Columbia is being investigated by.

The director of the Secret Service.

I expect that investigation to be thorough and I expected to be rigorous.

If it turns out that.

Some of the allegations that have been made in the press.

Are confirmed.

Then.

Of course -- being -- Because.

My attitude -- respect to the Secret Service personnel.

Is no different than what I expect out of my.

Delegations sitting here were represented people the United States.

That was President Obama yesterday at a joint press conference with Colombian president Juan Manuel Santos.

Talking answering questions from the press corps without a scandal that took place with Secret Service agents and their advance team for the president.

Allegedly patronizing prostitutes in Cartagena Colombia.

And it's been quite a mess and this is power play Internet and you can be sure that what the president was hoping to talk about.

On his trip to Columbia did not involve brothels and did not involve the Secret Service by the president.

Has had some mistakes of his own now compounded by bad luck.

With this as he tries to get off the ground.

With his reelection campaign it's been a rougher start a lot of people thought would com.

And what's it -- mean Michael -- knows what it all means let us let us give you the short version number of the -- He is -- senior political analyst for the Washington examiner he is.

Fellow -- for your fellow residents -- every resident -- that means that he asked to stay there.

-- the conservative American enterprise institute and he is the animating force behind the Bible of American politics.

The America we -- almanac of American politics.

-- -- -- -- -- It's okay so.

We were talking about this last week about this bumpy start for the president that in he had the hot Mike moment with -- -- he had.

Track gets over trying to push the Supreme Court on his health law and then last week you had -- the curve ball for over.

Hillary yeah yeah.

Talking with supreme fresh off his same court and then lastly Dennis trying to 1930s decision lock your automobile overturning is not overturning a federal law -- it was a state law that was 1905.

He wasn't quite brushed up on his common law take that Internet.

Yale or Harvard for the law degree are you don't -- first look very -- -- very evident.

And then you had speakerphone pullover Hilary Rosen who's -- democratic strategist is on CNN.

And then even I thought that you have to start to feel bad for a guy who even when he's supposed to be on.

We should be a lay up shot he go to Columbia you talk about free trade.

You do that stuff and drug war and while you're there you're -- Secret Service messes you up.

That's right this is I suppose something that could happen to any president any time.

This.

You know this represents -- sort of culture of Secret Service -- goes beyond just a couple of individuals.

-- off today.

Hospitals are there any time but yeah that the president's campaign is not going as smoothly as citizen would think.

And there's some more basic fundamentals are operating against him there -- we we heard a lot of talk over the past two years about a billion dollar Obama campaign.

-- three million dollars combined fundraising the president of the DNC last month it they've raised a lot of money but it doesn't look like they're gonna get to a billion dollars and they've also the president also authorized a super pac.

Right to permit after having said the super pacs are terrible terrible thing in the Supreme Court decision that allows them to undertake their business -- a certain way as an awful.

Crime against democracy he's now got a super -- of his own and what that tells me is that they're afraid.

That's something really unfair might happen and that would be Republicans actually spending as much money as Democrats OK -- they don't really want that to happen Democrats have spent more money than Republicans in the last two cycles -- 2004 and 2008.

You know more money's been spent on behalf of the democratic candidates and I think president Obama's come to think that that's a natural entitlement that is -- that is that is the natural order of things and it's not quite working out that way.

Obviously some of the money that.

The enthusiasm that came in 2008.

Isn't there is -- expected amounts this time.

And you know the other thing is just take a look at the people's 100% -- more than 50% are not committed to voting for.

And certainly we saw and our last fox poll.

They came out last week.

Sort of what many of us expected which is this is going to be a tight race within a certain bandwidth.

That you see Romney up.

Basically at the edge of the margin of error at at the outset.

But that that easily could be President Obama by three or four is that the kind of race that we can expect to see do you think.

Where it's operating in waves inside a fairly standard bandwidth.

I think so I don't think you know we the last time we saw president win reelection with a -- 60% of the vote was 1984 Ronald Reagan.

That -- -- not quite hard for either party since it has been 53%.

Right.

In 1988 Republican 2008 democratic I don't think we're gonna see.

He you know either side -- that pending an absolute collapse by one of these candidates.

Know that Mitt Romney is running better not just in the fox pulled principles generally -- then his favorable ratings.

If you take a look at -- favorable -- unfavorable 37% favorable and 47%.

Unfavorable that's kind of not very good score and President Obama -- under performs his favorability -- under performs his favorability he's got 51% favorable split he's averaging 47%.

Against Romney.

-- to 37% share Apple's been averaging forty war against.

Obama so.

This a referendum on the incumbent they'd like to make it comparative seeing it and you know Mitt Romney is -- to dog to the top of the stage way in -- -- -- yes.

But I think that you know that stuff.

It's it's just not working and the other fundamental thing that's not working for him Chris is.

You haven't heard much about stimulus package you're not hearing much about Obama yeah.

You're not hearing much about -- they want to expand the federal government in the next Obama administration except that.

-- so far as he was referring to.

That possibility when he was talking to -- and a success after my election most politicians say after the elections and.

I don't like my life.

I have more flexibility.

And James Roche.

Interacting here on Twitter and by the way I should point out even -- what's your Twitter it emerged -- -- room.

Michael when you follow him.

But if you follow me ask east firewall you can do -- -- James Roche has done it right now.

Chris I'm more concerned about government overspending that I am about Romney pay taxes.

The national sales and and national sales tax is fair for all.

Duly noted mr.

roach king of politics asks Chris.

Do you get a -- among the party tax deductions like the GSA folks guests on their -- and -- -- lose it paid vacations.

We're not gonna comment here about my the rules here at Fox News Channel now connect obviously I -- we do not get anybody -- -- allowances here at Fox News Channel I don't recall any of the examiner right.

I know you get -- should they would get you nice meal at McDonald's and that's that's and that's enough that we we we want to work Hungary.

Who last thing Michael the most reelection campaigns I look back over history.

I'm with the help of your columns and the good work.

Seem to be fairly late breaking it affairs.

That you see sort of public opinions days mushy.

And then Harden as you get to the end more so than an open seats -- things like that you we certainly saw what George H.

W.

Bush.

We certainly -- with Jimmy Carter.

At times that incumbents have lost it's been hard -- in about September so is that something that could happen this time.

I think it's one of the things that could happen this time and I suppose optimistic Republicans must hope that.

Support for President Obama craters and goes down ten points over the week -- last weekend of the election which is what happened to Jimmy Carter after.

The one and only Carter Reagan debate which is the Thursday before the Tuesday -- And captain don't appears some emails have trusses -- -- hear you yes he had does do need to go -- until President Carter on Monday that.

He was not going to be real clue.

Bad breath Monday riots that one day it's serious yes I don't -- that I think that's one possibility of something could happen this year I think people me just say.

You know we like to think well for our president's.

We're proud that America could elect a black president because -- really want to reject him but.

We've had enough and it's we'll take a chance on the other guy and they -- that Michael Brown has told you what to expect and we are grateful to you.
