Today firefighter lieutenant Richard nappy died of a heart attack fighting a fire at a commercial building and bush.
Lieutenant happy with members of engine company 237 responded to 930 flushing avenue.
Mayor Bloomberg says nappy led the -- inside when he dropped down and later as EMTs worked on him he went into cardiac arrest.
While battling the blaze lieutenant -- the overheated suffered exhaustion and collapsed.
He was rushed here to what are -- but despite the best efforts of medical personnel he tragically died.
Lieutenant -- leaves behind a wife and two children and many friends in the department.
He was an extraordinary try to -- -- and an extraordinary fire officer.

He was a lifelong civil servants -- before working in Brooklyn was a member of engine company seven.
That company lost so many men on 9/11 he was off duty that day that went from home to help but the World Trade Center.
In the days that followed he helped save and rebuild our city in ways that all New Yorkers.
In fact people from all over the world understand.
Outside of his family his life's work was keeping New Yorkers safe from fires.
