A new federal appeals court ruling could be a game changer for voters this November the court upholding a section of an -- -- -- law.

That requires voters to show an ID before casting a ballot.

A popular position according to a new Fox News poll 70% of you polled say we need voter ID laws to prevent voter fraud only 26% say.

Well it's interesting a couple of these delve into the motivation and what's going on behind the reasons for -- of voter ID rules of course in many states you are required to show some type of -- before you can vote.

That has been upheld in some cases -- the Supreme Court as recently as 2008.

-- let's take a look at a couple of these -- first -- our supporters of voter ID laws trying to reduce legal votes from minorities.

34% said yes but an overwhelming majority 62% said -- are right to the other side of that.

Is our next question our opponents of voter ID laws trying to increase illegal votes -- non citizens.

50% said yes they do believe sell 45%.

The poorest among us also minorities specifically blacks and Hispanics and that's one of their main objections to the line Texas that's now on hold.

So we decided to take a look at the presidential exit polls the election in 2008 to see how those particular groups voted.

Those with the lowest income 73%.

Voted for President Obama.

Black voters 95%.

-- -- for President Obama.

And Hispanic voters where there's the big -- up in controversy in Texas 67%.

Of them voted democratically voted for President Obama.

Still critics will say that Democrats are focusing on making sure they get votes from those who are obviously most heavily -- -- in their favor.

And you know the other side argues that Republicans have something -- trying to stop boats who legally would be able to vote.

It is not something that will be settled anytime soon -- an ongoing debate -- thank you very much.
