London Olympics.

And I've got friends who are any booking hotel rooms and they're so excited and I can tell anything to them that a year ago.

Janet Evans and -- parents are here to olympians thank you for being here this morning.

Things have no words you're so welcome -- I want to start with you what inspired you and I'm a subconsciously -- this but the note saying it.

At age 48.

Too much -- I don't.

Starting and you look back.

So I say -- you what inspired you at the mystery age to want -- -- -- and another Olympic Games.

For someone earlier to exhibit today said perpetually 39 so let's just stick with I always.

Thank you yes so yes so my last Olympics are in Atlanta in 1996 when I was 24 years old so we can all do the math.

And after I retired from the sport after three Olympics in some gold medals here in there I really wanted to.

Do all the things I thought I wanted to do I -- it's -- travel the world to get married start a family.

I did all about and a couple Summers ago life.

-- -- moms you know my kids are sleeping through the night I kind of thought I'd like to maybe.

Some of those things -- put on the back burner and raising my kids -- I may -- like to put on the front burner and -- for me it was taking care of my body taking care of myself jumping back in the pool starting to work out again.

I'm taking advantage of new technology in my sport and swimming with something that is something that's in my soul and with something not always wanted to do again and I just had the support of my family and my -- and I found myself back in the water.

Awesome -- I tell you let up five gold medals.

And you recently surprised -- by qualifying for the US Olympic trials by beating the times standard for the 400 meter freestyle.

In the Austin.

The Grand Prix congratulations on that kind of the mess and you inspire all those mommies over forty or whatever that it didn't have nothing -- -- and when I.

Want to leave -- out this season aspiring to.

You can take a fourteen year hiatus in 2008 Beijing -- help the US team set new world record -- Olympic records than the 800 meter freestyle.

With a winning time of six minutes 58 seconds and 56 something is right.

I it.

Yeah the -- the other day it is an experience it was incredible to be.

-- with Michael Phelps and Ryan locking Peter Banda case.

To -- Phelps go for that that historic a gold medals.

And -- some and I'll remember of to rest my day.

For -- my life just remember that feeling enough.

-- -- K coming on the wall knowing I'm gonna win Olympic gold medal and how my dreams come true.

Well it's such an honor to have you both teen USA -- getting some help from a rather unique source in training for this year's games tell me about it.

Yes -- you know we talked about me coming back into the sport and technology being what it is now that.

You know we're in this day and age and BMW is actually partnered with the team USA to help athletes technologically so.

But BMW has done is they've taken engineers of their beautiful cars and they've used those engineers for -- Ricky myself in the swimming pool.

They're they're putting sensors on our lands -- on our -- to see it went really can be made underneath the water out -- using real.

And I can't and we are -- quantitative.

The -- -- not -- a feel thing do we get data analysis right then and there on the we can see what's happening with our strokes and for someone like me this 116 laps if I can.

Improve you know a tenth of a second every -- That's you know a lot of times actually improved so.

For us technologically this is very important an incident an advantage for us to to get in the pool and find those little things we're doing wrong that we can actually improve upon.

-- it.

Ricky is -- a game changer in your opinion in terms of competing.

It is it's huge I mean this technology we never used that before it's it's brand new no other country has it.

You know what it will do is.

Normally we just we see videos -- race we get -- compare it with other videos and that's about it you can look at some -- but you don't really know what you do.

What you do differently -- makes you faster.

Now we can take these videos I mean for say the dolphin kick which is what we've been focusing on.

We're going to that dolphin kick -- on -- measure.

How big each K kids -- also taking in how fast for going out and Alvin K and it's -- -- like and we were unveiled compared.

Yeah that I thought that -- Everything you can't see it doesn't look at video out I anchors on the weekends -- fox report I did try that on -- show.

It's -- I get it is kicking up on a Saturday night the -- -- the you have lots of fans and and we are interactive.

Internet show here so we have a live chat and -- a live chat right now people are talking about -- king of politics asks.

Janet who would you try to swim the English Channel from England to France.

You know -- probably what I'm a distance of rice and ten miles a day as it is now so.

Yeah I would I'm a little scared and cold hearted or those that we -- -- fine.

Like bill hottest warmest day in the summer but on I actually on -- I have a lot of Twitter friends that actually are swimmers at a house won -- are trying to -- it was channel and I think it's incredible so.

On if I can get over my fear of cold water is something I would definitely have definitely tried to do.

Yes fear of the cold water -- my god yeah I guess that you didn't hear anything amazing but I know that there's a way that viewers can help team USA how can we help.

Yeah obvious obvious doesn't -- -- -- assailants all across the country now until August.

Contact your local dealership.

They.

The -- events for every single BMW drive test drive during those events.

They'll donate ten dollars toward.

The USOC held without as athletes.

It's you get ago.

Have fun -- driving BMW and it helps us.

That our ten dollars -- -- has driving your local B and DB MW and -- -- dealership absolutely fabulous.

-- Barrett -- here and we're so glad that he stopped by -- -- just a tremendous tremendous.

Accomplishment for you both -- -- you're being call the next big star I think you're both stars Janet Evans thank you for stopping by as well you guys.
