Fox News alert now on the photographs that appear to show American troops in Afghanistan posing with body parts of homicide bombers.

President Obama is now calling for investigation.

As the White House condemns the photos published today by the LA times.

The white house Press Secretary Jay Carney adding that the White House is quote.

Very disappointed.

Over their publication.

Meantime Defense Secretary Leon Panetta just apologized over the scandal -- I've strongly condemned.

What you see in those photos -- -- -- general Allen.

That behavior.

That was depicted in those photos.

Absolutely violates.

Both our regulations.

And more importantly our core values.

This is not who we are.

And it's certainly not.

Who we represented.

Well when it comes to the great majority.

Both men and women in uniform.

Weird America live have chosen not to show the pictures.

They are online and many places now that originally published by the LA times reportedly taken two years ago.

In the wake of attempted attacks on our troops.

Now there are fresh concerns that these pictures just published could fuel a new wave of anger on the streets in Afghanistan and could in danger.

American lives over there in particular.

-- now retired lieutenant colonel Ralph Peters who is -- Fox News strategic analyst and author of the book -- at Gettysburg.

Ralf thank you very much for being back weather so now you have.

Panetta the White House general -- our top man Afghanistan weighing in on this and -- -- condemning the photos again they're very graphic we're not gonna show them.

The Pentagon has reached out to the LA times and said please don't show them you're going to endanger the lives of American troops.

Healy times thought it was -- to show them anyway we've made -- different different decision.

What is your take on this.

Well my take on this is that there is a terrible scandal here -- But it has nothing to do with our troops in and combat.

We -- troops escape the suicide bomber.

Bad judgment took some dumb pictures.

And no terrorists were harmed in the taking of those snapshots.

We really -- and then the real scandal.

Is that the only times desperate to survive creates a scandal -- -- pictures from the Pentagon's objections the real scandal isn't the establishment media.

-- on another chance to trash our troops -- worst of the scandal is that our leaders in and out of uniform.

Rush to condemn our troops no explanation no context and I suggest -- White House spokesman Jay Carney.

Joined the military and see what it's like himself before he condemns our troops I'm especially appalled.

That those in uniform general Allen our commander in Afghanistan just jump to trash our troops.

Look he need to put in context may -- the greatest generation.

-- Japanese skulls home to their girlfriends I'm not condone it I'm trying to make the point.

That our soldiers out the front line and our Marines are under tremendous stresses.

War is not a ladies auxiliary Tea Party at all too easy.

For people comfortable now Los Angeles or new -- the White House condemned the troops without context those troops have been given company level letters of reprimand.

And moved on and by the way if our strategy and doctrine its so pathetically weak.

That could be derailed.

Destroyed shattered.

By a few burning core rounds.

Or a few photographs.

The dead body parts of terrorists.

Well that's not much of a strategy were doctored so I'm furious.

Not of the troops who did something dumb.

But I'm furious about moral cowardice of military leaders who never stick up for our troops the protect their own careers like -- -- angry.

As of 22 year old.

Former army enlisted man officer I'm angry as can be because general Allen need to get it through its head.

That a leader is responsible for everything his troops -- or failed to do that's the military code don't blame the troops update I'm doing the tough work.

Blame the generals -- strategy has failed.

That cowardly terribly White House just trying to kick the can down the road -- November and blame the establishment media that really loves loves to trash our soldiers -- -- You can imagine -- -- and said that behavior was entirely inconsistent with the values of the US led coalition in Afghanistan.

Ryan Crocker our ambassador there call the soldiers' actions morally repugnant.

And Defense Secretary Panetta said he strongly rejects the conduct depicted in mid two year old photographs just just the point you made there so our viewers now these are not.

Prisoners.

That we've taken these war.

Suicide bombers they -- trying to kill.

Our troops by blowing themselves up that -- -- below the exploded bodies.

With which our troops are posing.

-- exploded.

By the victims themselves by the afghanis who were trying to take out our troops our troops -- posed with the bodies this is not a case in which.

We we took lives and -- cavalier about it.

Now it and -- -- any of us any of your viewers feel if a suicide bomber just tried to blow them up and failed how much immediate respect.

What they have for the suicide bomber's body parts and I do not want to be clear I do not condone what the troops did it was wrong.

But -- by historical standards our soldiers and Marines today are the best behaved.

In all of history I mean there are amazingly well behaved under the stresses of a decade of war.

But the reflex action of our generals is always a leap out and say.

All my gosh our troops are so awful -- so wicked this is an honest this is an -- -- have to respect Afghan culture etc.

General.

Allen is not threatened by suicide bombers -- safe.

It is multi layered on what Kabul and on the gram fortresses.

Those troops out patrolling every single day.

Risk to life and -- are under Incredibles.

Stresses that are chateau generals don't face any -- and the White House certainly doesn't face and look.

With the troops it was wrong it was dumb.

And it was the media.

That made it into a scandal and so look I'm behind the troops.

And I am not going to pander to any -- -- -- -- general whose first instinct first instinct.

-- the trash our soldiers.

Get over general Allen.

Want to tell our viewers that the LA times did report that this for -- lost at least 35 men.

23 were killed by homemade bombs -- suicide bombers so obviously.

As you would expect in any event there was there was a history there and there were some real emotions there these are real people.

Underneath these uniforms who don't always do the right thing but.

Now Peterson -- -- you know going thinking I like our Yale sure thank you sir.

We're taking your thoughts on now let me know on Twitter how you feel about it at Megyn --
