The books that were removed from the class senators cited in the ruling.
From the state that found Mexican American studies classes out of compliance with the law.
The requirement from the state was to take all materials out of the classrooms when those classes were suspended so.
Here we are in our book warehouse and this is where they came.
Several schools and we let the -- eleven schools at this point have requested to have additional copies of those books so they've been distributed to libraries and we just have to keep copies of them.
-- about forty copies of two titles.
The rest of them are in -- -- you know that were copies of those but it regionally in the library but now there's more copies of them.
The district gave the library the opportunity to request that this wasn't you have to put these in there but -- -- -- -- -- require them because I think there was.
More interest -- them from students so it's up to them to make the decision whether they want it more in the collections and several school system.
I think where it originated word -- books were taken out of the classroom that was part of the requirement from the state ruling so it was a while you're taking votes away that must be -- -- but that is not true.
The votes have not been banned they were put in libraries actually more students throughout the district have access to those books now but I think -- You know there's varying opinions on -- suspension of the Mexican American studies classes have been a difficult thing for our community.
And it's been a difficult situation for our students and teachers so we get that since if they think -- some push back on that obviously.
For people trying to be heard on that issue.
But the books are not -- seven titles specifically were cited in the evidence speak for books so.
When the state says you must remove materials.
We went to what was cited in the evidence of those -- the only ones that were impacted -- that any book that has been approved for use in the classroom.
May be used in the classroom so only those seven books that were cited in the ruling that were brought out those are not available for instruction right now.
Any other book that was in the has not been impacted by this.
