Between President Obama and the presumptive Republican nominee Mitt Romney if the election were held today.
The president would be governor Romney by six points that's according to an NBC Wall Street Journal poll.
But those same people gave the governor -- as six point edge when it comes of the most important issue on voters' minds how to improve the economy.
Romney also leads the president in the category of changing business as usual in the nation's capital Fox News contributor Karl Rove.

Romney has -- in four and one of them was -- if you average all those polls together.
46 point eight for Obama 45%.
For Romney that's an awful close start to this campaign particularly given that Romney's come through -- a tough primary that is left -- -- little battered and bruised -- we're off to a very close start of what will be I think gave a tightly fought close general election.
It seems like if Mitt -- is going to win he's gonna win because people think that he's the one who knows how to fix the economy right.

President Obama independents older voters those with some college Catholics.
And middle class voters who are making between thirty and 75000 dollars a year household income.
Those were the groups who are being affected and if you look inside those numbers you'll see a lot of people who -- deeply concerned about the economy.
The election is going to be about economy jobs deficit debt spending -- health care but it's going to be dominated by the economy Carl what about the scandals the GSA stuff.
The Secret Service stuff those pictures of the troops at the LA times published this week does that rub off on the president in a negative way.
You don't some -- it does and some of it doesn't my gut tells me that the that the the two year old photographs from Afghanistan.
Do not if it strikes me that Secret Service probably does not.
But the GSA does is sort of represent what everybody thinks is fundamentally wrong with abortion that's her bunch of a -- bureaucrats at a touch with the ordinary Americans it's been and our money like they're literally on a drunken.
Vacation at -- Las Vegas resort and which I guess they were.
But I think you gotta be careful about the biggest problem the president is that it occupies time.
And it it doesn't allowed to get his message -- we're going to be spending days and days and days talking about.
Either the Afghan of the to GSA -- the right service problem.
