At any -- segment tonight he told you last night the General Services Administration wasted a colossal amount of taxpayer money through corrupt spending practices.

We spotlighted GSA administrator Jeffrey nearly taking more than 100 trips including a hot tub junket to las -- It's.

So Mr.

President.

You're telling me I should pay more taxes so Jeffrey.

Can run around a world -- -- -- dot tops that what you're telling me.

Federal government needs to be downsize and reorganize.

By the -- -- -- scandal is miniscule.

Compared to the larger issue of government waste.

Joining us now from Washington Tom Schatz president of Citizens Against Government Waste so give us a headline here tonight mr.

-- The culture of waste is alive and well in Washington bill.

We're spending more money than ever over the past five years spending -- gone up 27%.

Under the Obama administration record deficits record debt.

And nobody is watching how the money's being spent.

All right now convinced me what you're saying is true that's easy for you to say I mean -- give me some data to back it up convinced me what -- saying that the government doesn't care about the tax dollars -- -- flowing in.

Throws it anywhere shape or form we have the GSA thing.

But that was uncovered by government auditors so the government did its job in the sense that it.

The the government.

Talk an audit of these guys are -- look at these guys found the corruption and exposed to give me something else.

Before the stimulus the Department of Energy spent about two -- and -- five million dollars a year on the weather is Asian assistance program.

The stimulus increase that to five billion dollars and even before -- that was done.

The inspector general at the Department of Energy told the secretary Stephen issue.

That we -- -- can track of the 225.

Million and then I don't like it automatically to them they want to know how we stop in his -- 225.

Million Department of Energy for weather -- nation okay.

So that -- Obama administration comes in.

And makes it five billion from 225.

Million that's a colossal jump.

Right now it's over the course of the stimulus which is about two years but does it matter does -- matter that's an enormous -- okay what's the weather is nation what what does that mean what is what.

Well those that the money that goes to the states and then goes to nonprofit agencies who in turn go out to a home.

And say -- you know give you better sighting or better windows or better insulation overall.

And we're gonna report back to the government that we did that -- it's rampant with fraud the opportunities for for -- obvious.

Hello hello again let me let me stop you -- -- the first -- hearing about it -- first the audiences here and about it okay.

C -- five billion dollars earmarked by the Obama administration which is okayed by congress and such as the Obama administration congress passed.

Okay so they set up a program where private companies -- private companies.

Go out to the O'Reilly home and say you know what bills you out of these solar panels -- got to get a little more stuff and up here in the basement.

-- to make sure that didn't lead the heat doesn't -- the air conditioning -- into that and then we can do it for -- we can refer somebody to do it.

How does that work.

Well you get a tax credit.

And there's obviously room for fraud there as well -- you can say I did it and that is not necessarily approve of the department of -- not gonna run all over the coming -- they -- aren't.

Home that -- -- five million dollars helping individual Americans -- the -- their home for increased energy efficiency right.

That's right okay so I assume this is part of the stimulus.

To give companies small businesses.

The more our business to go win it and do the work that needs to be done that's part of the stimulus right.

It was that's right and of course this is something that should be done by individuals simply because I want to say governments interfering but but the government is doing it.

For a good purpose to create jobs in the weather is -- industry but you say.

Nobody keeps track of the five billion that they couldn't even keep track of the 225 million now they bumped it up and nobody can keep track of it that's what you're saying here.

But that's exactly right and this is not just here by the way.

Oversight generally throughout the government has been slashed under this administration there are twelve agencies that don't even have an inspector general like the one that found the problem -- GS.

Okay but let's get back to weather -- -- how do you know they can't keep track of of the money and where it goes and who's doing what to whom.

Patty -- -- is there have been reports after the fact and that's the big problem here in Washington money comes and goes out and it's gone and spend.

Before they find out that it's been wasted trying to that's -- -- they once Jeffrey Johnson not tub invent this I mean he's -- -- they've got to.

-- to do you say.

That not only is that clown in the GSA and the weather is -- should think wasted money.

But this is everywhere in -- federal government it according you this is just.

An epidemic of craziness across the board.

There is duplication and waste everywhere the Government Accountability Office has issued two reports.

On overall duplication and waste 400 billion a year about 10% of all of our spending.

Just could be eliminated -- getting rid of duplication.

Unbelievable let's just thanks very much we appreciate it directly ahead.
