A nine year old boy stands up for himself after getting bullied.

And get suspended from school.

He says he'd been bullied for months in fact that he could not take it anymore so when the -- started beating him up again he says he fought back.

Trace Gallagher has more on the punishment that unleashed -- the -- west -- a Trace.

And you can see in the picture to the nine year old Nathan peregrine temperature doesn't really look overly vicious -- -- big for that matter his parents say that.

Once a week you would come home complain that he was picked on or bully or punched.

And that he had some of the physical scars to show what they call the school and they told him at first to turn the other cheek let's.

Just walk away walk away find a teacher.

Well when those things happen -- he did find a teacher.

There's hardly any repercussions.

Finally yeah we tell them if you have to if there's nobody else around you do what you have to do.

So this -- week Nathan says when he began being bullied he decided that enough was enough.

-- -- It was picking me up any kept shaming me into that.

Concrete basketball.

-- he Albert me me I was so I tried to pressure -- you're -- -- again and then kick me back I punched in the face and he'd punch me -- phase.

All that he and the bully were both suspended because the school says they have a zero tolerance policies saying I'm quoting here.

District eleven schools employ many anti bullying teaching techniques and none of these methods.

Includes violence or retaliation but -- dad says look unless the school holds the holds the bullies accountable.

They're only gonna keep doing this stuff was.

It's wrong I mean they're did not only in Nathan's case but it nationwide you know there's there's kids then you know.

-- -- give -- in the face to get called names people try to strangle you know they they tell him to go.

Kill themselves.

-- you know both the boys were suspended Megan for two days they are now both back at school.

As a real question about whether it.

You know justice should be blind in those schools situations whether they should really be looking into who is the aggressor and who is the defender.

Or -- they should have zero tolerance policies as they do.

And even sell if -- zero tolerance what would you tell your child what would you tell your child stick up yourself the next time -- can -- do -- And right now I'm I'm I'm of them you turn the other cheek first and the second time you like that I would -- I have to say and if the policies -- get suspended for.

Fighting that will live with that but I'm I'm so -- a kid get punched in the case over and over and over again.

Without doing anything about it I mean I'm looking to pull my kid out at school -- but.

-- short of that.

Can just leaving their helpless -- you tell me what you guys think.

Bombing a Twitter at main characteristics.

Of it.
