Earlier this week house speaker John Boehner criticized the president for ignoring congress.

-- president checked out left labored.

He spent the last six months campaigning for more -- into the country to the other.

Instead of working with members of both political parties here in Washington.

To address with serious challenges that our country faces but Republicans aren't the only ones critical of the president's way of conducting business.

California congressman Dennis Cardoza if one of several Democrats to blast the president.

In a recent blog Cardoza wrote.

He would admonish staff members of congress and the public in speeches as what -- in private President Obama projected an arrogant.

I'm right you're wrong demeanor.

Bit alienated many potential allies so how is this gonna come into play in November.

I'm joined by radio talk show host Larry Elder Larry thanks for joining me today.

Governor thank you for having me you know I was surprised at the scathing tone and and really the harshness of the tone of congressman for noses comments.

Because he really said that present Obama is out of touch not just with.

The Republicans.

He's out of touch with his own party and with the American people was that was -- a surprise to you to hear -- Democrats say that.

Not really when you consider the fact the Cardoza is I'm not gonna run for reelection Barney Frank also criticized president.

Obama for spending all this time in the first part of an administration pursuing obamacare supposed to working on the economy Barney Frank not running for reelection either governor told people are not running for reelection -- -- -- -- -- the president this destiny that.

He still has a lot of clout and power within his own party.

So that people won't say it inside the beltway but outside the beltway.

This is the quote from congressman Cardoza insist.

One former administration official told me directly that the people of the White House never talk to real people.

Another former Obama staffer confided in me that it was clear him -- the president.

Didn't mind giving speeches are lectures but really avoided personal contact with members of congress and folks outside the beltway.

Larry you know I when I talk to people that I know friends of mine who are in congress some Democrats.

This is a president that does not schmooze with them and that's something that is very important -- getting legislation passed and building the kind of relationships that.

-- create.

Really -- politically he's not doing that -- I'm not sure I share that analysis governor the American people don't care about inside baseball they don't care about the fact that Obama may have ticked off a Democrat or two because he's had a high handed arrogant attitude.

John McCain would routinely reviled by senators.

In the senate he ran for election nobody cared about his attitude and in the -- Republicans -- him they care about.

Their job to care about money they care about inflation they care about spinning the -- -- debt we care about deficit to care about the damage obamacare gonna deal.

They care about the fact that he keeps on saying that he inherited this awful economy.

And the media can can it is in bed with him by calling -- governor of the Great Recession that's not the Great Recession.

The Great Recession in the early eighties inflation with higher unemployment was higher interest rates were higher but they don't call that the Great Recession why.

Because that would give Reagan credit and that would also suggest that Obama should be doing the same thing to get us out of this economy.

So this economy is a Great Recession so much worse in Reagan's then we got a tax we got to spend more we have to investing Green jobs that's a narrative and Islamist.

The media continue that narrative in Obama can can prepare with a narrative.

The that the Republicans are gonna lose in the fall governor.

Larry one of the things that I think shocked a lot of us was when the president criticize the supreme court for even considering.

The overturning of obamacare -- get his quote.

His comment here's what he had to say I'm confident that the Supreme Court.

Will not take what would be an unprecedented.

Extraordinary.

Step of overturning.

A law that was passed by.

A strong majority.

They democratically elected congress.

I'm not a law professor.

I'm not a law professor he is but I did take ninth grade civics.

And when he used the two words unprecedented.

And extraordinary -- What's he talking about that's what the court does.

Right well first -- he was not a law professor he was a law instructor people keep saying that a professor at the very different -- an instructor at at Chicago but that's just a minor point.

He also said that it was passed by a large majorities in the in that in congress as you know obamacare with pass without a single.

Republican vote in the senate so that's not true either look at -- -- a political statement governor he's saying look if these guys.

Overturn obamacare.

Let me come back for four more years are put another Kagan another Sotomayor they -- it will make sure that the next time this has tested -- go and our favor that's why he said he knows full well.

This week what -- -- lots of loss for crying out loud everybody wants me court to overturn the fugitive slave law in the Dred Scott case so he knows that this was not far from lawyers it was for.

For people reelect me and I'll make sure that we put the -- liberals they -- that we'll make sure this kind of thing doesn't happen again that's why he's had a governor.

Larry four years.

Ago John McCain refused to talk about some of the associations that the president had had with people like.

Reverend Wright as his church that he was a member -- for twenty years -- Tony Rezko who.

Well let's just say that some of his land deals for less than stellar.

And I'm being very charitable there.

And and then people we don't like bill -- who's a terrorist running a dog on terrorists he and his wife both.

I think probably ought to be in prison not out teaching college students but the press -- Malone and John McCain left him alone on this will he.

-- he skate again this year.

It was a tactical blunder on the part of McCain not to at least use reverend Jeremiah Wright.

The media consultant wanted to do it I wrote a book that came out months before you -- talked about Jeremiah Wright where I talked about this being a damaging thing for Obama's candidacy.

The media didn't care and finally when John McCain started -- -- talking about Jeremiah Wright.

Obama started losing primaries if this had been -- brought up in the normal course of of -- a bit of a race Obama never would've won and reverend Jeremiah -- important for three reasons our governor first of all.

The kkk GD America happened the Sunday after 9/11 where he blamed America for what happened on nine elevenths the other thing is.

There was a church member -- Jeremiah Wright's a church who told Obama that she was gonna move out of a suburb because the suburb that -- gonna move to head out marching band.

And our reverend -- right -- talk around that because the kid -- black he would be in an all white neighborhood he thought that this would be bad for his self image and Obama is a biracial man whose mother sent him from Indonesia to Hawaii to get a good education yet Obama heard this woman say this and still join the church it's amazing to me that Obama did not get pounded and pounded and pounded on this association with -- anti Semitic hostile guy to America it's.

Mind bogging that it mind boggling to me governor that it wasn't used as an issue.

Larry Elder thank you very much for joining me today I appreciate your pleasure here.
