Hi everyone I'm meteorologist Maria Molina from the fox -- weather center with the forecast for the northeast and today is a very messy day out there where hit with -- storm system that's basically strengthen any overnight hours to produce a lot of rain.

Yesterday into early this morning across areas like New York City and Philadelphia and it still be impacting us today's it was going to be -- logo free throughout the day today -- doing any traveling in that -- the big airport hubs.

Like Boston's Logan Airport or JFK and LaGuardia.

In an out of New York City so we know a lot of people travel out of there and unfortunately we're still be dealing with the rain -- -- visibility.

And also some very strong winds and temperatures are also a lot cooler today than what we've been experiencing over the last several weeks so New York City year only looking at a high.

At 55 degrees interior portions of the northeast also very cold 36 where high city in buffalo 39.

Over -- Pittsburgh so well below average temperatures for this late in the month of -- -- we do have some snowfall because -- cold temperatures along interior portions of the northeast and because it's only in -- season for snow we already have those -- coming out on the trees and also basically a lot of plans so they snowfall is going to be causing some damage to plants.

And also could possibly be bringing down some trees out there so please be very careful -- you're doing any driving out here across parts.

Others say buffalo down into portions -- Western Pennsylvania and West Virginia you're gonna see significant snowfall accumulation.

From this storm -- some of the higher elevations could pick up over a foot of snow.

-- elevations lower amounts was still very significant anywhere between three to six inches of snow is expected for cities like buffalo.

Got into cities like the city of Pittsburgh so -- -- -- for you guys should as far as timing on the -- -- -- -- Tuesday most of the precipitation should be over and done with.

First cities like Boston New York City Philadelphia and most of us know we'll also be winding down we can see -- one pocket of snow still lingering.

Across northwestern Pennsylvania and also just in the south of buffalo and that's really what we're looking at the most.

Significant snowfall accumulations that are going to be over a foot of snow and that should continue through early Tuesday morning but by Wednesday.

Finally -- storm system is exiting the northeast and we're gonna have much quieter weather.

And also start to see more widespread sunshine across the northeast and the wind dying down as well also for today -- -- gonna do with the wind.
