Well they are shepherd and good afternoon Fox News has just learned that the Iran -- are making overtures to the Chinese to give them access to the CIA drone.

Now this drone is an RQ 17.

And the drones coating which makes it invisible to radar.

Is a high priority technology for the Chinese who also got access to another piece of sensitive US stealth technology a year ago.

You remember after the bin Laden raid the -- -- gave the Chinese military access to the tale of the black hawk stealth helicopter.

Left behind by the Navy SEALs it broke off during that rating could not be destroyed and the Chinese -- samples from the tail and they took pictures.

Former intelligence official told fox that they believed.

That it was more likely Iran would try and break down the drone and give people access to the parts and that's the way they could really maximized what they captured -- But but there's word instead it what they've done is sort of reverse engineer the -- so from -- -- got it figured out how we did it.

Well that's the claim by the Iranians that we've head pretty significant push back from US officials I just a short time ago this afternoon.

The Defense Secretary Leon Panetta telling reporters that he believes that these claims by Iran to have reverse engineer the -- are simply ridiculous that they just don't have.

That capability -- Ron has also made claims that they've been able to track the flight history for the drone.

And a former intelligence official told me that that's really just low hanging fruit here but doesn't really require a lot of because all these drones have a black box like a -- so western to the black box you can find simple things like Catholic history.

Well I mean well.

Couple things here one obviously it's it's a tremendous propaganda coup for the Iranians to be able to talk about this the thing to understand is is really to essential pieces one is the body the form itself of the -- of the aircraft.

And then the other is the components that are inside -- the electronics the highly sophisticated optics and other sensors that we would be using.

So the downside negative is yes they might figure out what types of materials we use in the coatings.

There may be some some marginal loss in terms of some of our security and secret information there.

In terms of the interior stuff I think that -- -- exactly right.

That this -- very basic flight data that you can access but it you know that's not the encrypted stuff they could to -- is going to be much more complicated.

And even frankly probably the Chinese the Russians who are branch didn't get a look at this won't get a whole lot out of that because the -- that we protect that data out.

But but the loss of certain.

Types of things like how we -- it what -- about the teams we fly at some that kind of information.

You know I mean it's an unfortunate situation where we're gonna lose out on some about.

They admit there's a cyber war going on that it would appear.

And and again I mean obviously this is just we're gonna keep seeing this ratcheting -- tensions between the -- US and Israel on one side and some of the rest the western powers.

So you know that's actually -- course why the UAV was over there I mean as far as we know it was in western Afghanistan.
