-- Florida senator Marco Rubio getting ready to deliver what his camp cause a major foreign policy speech.

This coming only days after a bit of a slip of the tongue and an explanation from.

Senator rubio was Sean Hannity last night.

34567.

Years from now if I do a good job as vice president I'm sorry.

I've defended you all got that right they might be a good job of the senator and -- vice president.

All have a chance to do I'll have a chance to do all sorts of things quality -- -- explain that's.

-- which is that it was a slip of the tongue but.

Are you guessed it many times -- stuff starts floating in your head so I trust a word you know so well that's why you know at this point.

You know Sean I I think that governor Romney has now begun a formal process -- -- some people to do that process for him and I think we should all respect that.

So is -- planning a VP run former Minnesota governor Republican presidential candidate Tim Pawlenty.

As with me now from his home state governor how you do any good morning to you.

Good morning to you bill I'm doing great good to be with terrific thank you for coming back let's talk about ruby -- a moment.

What would governor Pawlenty brings to this ticket with -- rock act.

Well I've taken my name off the list for vice president so we should talk about Marco Rubio the other great -- possibilities that.

Mitt Romney -- I have.

Look when you put up that Romney and whoever he picks against President Obama in his failed leadership has failed economy.

I think that ticket on the Ron besides going to do very very well -- I but -- I -- my -- our bonds that if you're on that ticket to who would you.

Would you be a good match with him.

-- your Tea Party connections in fiscal responsibility etc.

Well look I've been down that road before in 2000 today with John McCain and I was honored to be considered -- as part of that process but I'm not gonna go.

-- down that road this time I'm not gonna consider that I've taken my name off the list and I think I can help Mitt Romney and other ways as a volunteer and and does serve his campaign -- a volunteer and I'm happy I'm gonna he's gonna have a lot of great choice I'm gonna take -- -- -- no on both counts so we'll see whether or not that holds up in the not senator rubio what do you make of all the talk with him.

Well I think he's going to be -- everybody's list all the pundits list people who follow this for good reason he's a very capable.

An individual very gifted individual is got a compelling American story he's incredible on policy comes from the big -- lots of electoral.

Vote -- in a swing state of Florida.

So for all those reasons and more are he of course is going to be and everybody's list of potential VP candidate Y and one of the leading candidate why would his team announced a major foreign policy speech is that something more work furtively.

Well he is a sitting United States senator bill and he's he's been very active on policy issues including foreign policy over the last.

Months and years I don't think it's unusual for somebody who's a viewed as a leader up and comer on foreign policy issues to.

To give a foreign policy speech I would make more out of that than on the face of them can.

What do you see what Mitt Romney strategy right now seems like he's tester running a lot of people.

-- on stage in Pennsylvania with Marco Rubio is with Rob Portman the senator out of Ohio Nikki -- -- governor and South Carolina.

What's the strategy there.

But I think a natural part of the process is when you go to big states that are important -- the election in campaign with the governors or senators are others who.

People are speculating might be VP that sets off these kinds of rumors are discussions but it's also natural to go campaign with people their home states -- invite them to come on that.

Campaign trail plus it gives -- an opportunity to get better acquainted with some of these individuals if he's going to.

Potentially consider some of them and and have one of them be his VP I think he wants to know them not just by reputation.

-- just on Paper but spending some time with them so.

I don't think that's part of the formal process but does have that informal benefit that I just described I think it's an agency strategy -- over a lot of political observers have really taken note of that the -- he's gone about over the past several weeks come what -- who do you think is the right back.

Well I don't think it said the time yet to be talking about specific individuals urged a short list but let's look at some of the factors number wonder.

The -- the variables and be ready to be president that's number one.

Number to make sure that you compliment to bring some strengths to the ticket and obviously the people they were mentioning here and others -- would do that.

Number three the bonus if you will icing on the cake is to bring something politically to the table in terms of a a big state a swing state.

Some other consideration that would be helpful to win the election -- the only variables but there -- three that that matter you -- name names.

Well look there's a million don't not a million but -- you -- -- -- rubio rob.

Rob Portman Brian -- of all Susanna Martinez Bobby -- -- Nikki Haley Bob.

-- Bob McDonald.

Many many others.

You know the list goes on and on Paul Ryan maybe people the private sector that maybe people in the military I'm sure the list initially will be.

Not through your form that perhaps it doesn't we'll have to -- see but but not Tim Pawlenty.

-- I'm trying to take my name off the list that you've got -- America's Newsroom on fox scratch it off when -- we'll do governor thank you we'll speak you can hide things in the coming weeks right temple and so.

Well they are dire.
