-- -- good morning everybody.

The announcement from Democrats expected to come.

During a senate hearing that's set to get under way any moment right now -- live shot from the hill as you're watching that.

-- Charles Schumer entering the -- there and Arizona courses at the epicenter.

Of this battle of the State's governor -- -- joins me now on the phone good morning governor glad to have you with us this morning in -- -- but it.

-- we are were watching a live shot as this hearing is about to get under way and basically.

Democrats are saying that regardless of what happens in the Supreme Court with your law even if it is upheld.

They're gonna force legislation that would try to overturn it.

Now I don't think that well -- have that but.

At you know it is I'll I will be the political stance that they -- performing today yet an -- authentic -- A bit unfortunate because of course I bet -- to -- it.

It is evident anything but now they wait until but the date for the public record appeared -- it and it you know it's a great.

You -- you say is political and you may be right about that when you look at the votes on -- and the influence on the election potentially.

This may be -- offered to court the Latino vote.

And I wonder what you think about that in terms of you know your long term goals for your state.

Well I you know I I first file I believe that it is.

Political move because they are quality -- -- But I think that we elected can expect.

But pretend that the -- of people agree.

Went that it -- tend to gravitate to people -- -- little pop.

And -- what's taking place today at the -- Of course -- under -- but I believe the timing is at.

Clear evidence that it is political apparent political creator.

Grandstanding and it issued to its -- elected.

I wonder what your take is on the Latino vote in your state.

You know I mean because -- I don't think it's fair to take any group and treat them as a voting bloc and to assume that they share the same feelings about the way they look at this slop.

Oh I agree with you totally.

You know we have a lot of is that politically without top Al Abdullah practically patriots with -- as -- public.

The bottom line is that I have a responsibility.

To uphold the law and all we really want to do is you of course.

I'll work with the federal government can help and support their pocket -- our resource that.

And -- pushed back.

And it goes very -- -- anecdote very very deep.

Indeed it does governor brewer -- -- you're watching this very closely as the Supreme Court arguments get under way as well this is the moment of the spotlight for this issue in America right now.

Governor -- thank you very much it's good to have you with us today -- -- -- I'd like to bring -- Tucker Carlson now editor of the daily caller and a Fox News contributor welcome Tucker good morning to you know.

You know he -- heard our conversation my conversation with governor -- moments ago she's saying that she believes that this is very politically motivated and she wonders where.

All of these folks work when she's been -- a screen -- about this issue for a long time from Arizona.

Well I don't I don't know that anyone in Washington anyways even pretending that this voters about policy there's no there's no hope this getting through a divided senator Republican controlled house.

It's not it's not gonna pass.

This really is campaign 2012.

Unfolding in legislative body where it by the way it should not be unfolding I'm here here of the dynamics very quickly.

They are few were undecided voters in this election and any other that I'm aware of in American history less than 10% is the estimate of people who really haven't made up their mind.

So in -- be reelected the president has to get virtually everybody who voted forum last time he needs to solidify his base.

This is an attempt to do that this is an attempt to scare Hispanic voters to in effect whip up racial tension.

In an effort to get that voting bloc out in November there's really no what are we read this and get I don't know anybody who's pretending otherwise yet.

You know I mean when you look at the electorate the Hispanic electorate you know what what's your take on that the issue that I brought up -- with the governor and -- -- Boating as a -- -- whether or not the discussion that's -- not in this country since the last election has had any impact.

On Hispanic voters in this nation and whether or not you know some of them don't line up more with the way the governor speaking.

Well of course is not at all monolithic voting -- Hispanic is a very broad term and there's a lot of debate about how accurate that term is and and there's a whole lot here about that.

But the bottom line is that that people who identify as soon as Hispanic are one of the fastest growing groups the united states of course the demographics of the country changing dramatically in those changes -- Democrats overall.

On and two they're not for this law I mean there are some exceptions of course there are many exceptions but in the main.

This will help -- -- this is the calculation on the democratic side this will help get self identified Hispanics out to vote for President Obama.

If you think what the policy behind it does the White House really wanna say no -- state -- -- it doesn't have the right to enforce laws.

No this is not about policy is not about principle this is purely about politics listen to the Spanish language radio -- most reporters don't speak Spanish.

But we're gonna see stories and that's the ones that the Democrats put up on Spanish language television particularly radio will references vote.

Tucker thank you huge issue -- and an area where someone say the GOP has a lot of work to -- And we're gonna watch the senate vote as it plays out -- thanks we'll see you soon.
