Is what it looked like growing crowds of protesters descended to protest the Arizona immigration law.

April 2010.

A lot of groups.

And Hispanic groups very upset about a law that empowered local police officers in that state.

To check into the citizenship status of those individuals they detained for other crimes.

And this is power play an Internet.

This story has been circling around Washington ever since the day that Arizona enacted their law it's a tough flaw is being controversial.

And now senate Democrats led by Chuck Schumer -- sort of the message man for the blue team in the senate are trying to re claim the high ground on this subject and force Republicans into an awkward situation on this legislation.

Let's talk about that with -- -- -- Run -- -- from the red team and Garland Nixon from the blue team OK guys.

Sort this -- -- -- -- let's start -- -- -- This -- is hugely popular yeah I've never seen all this popular he's got 65%.

Rock solid approval they've asked the question.

Every way that they can think -- posters have said do you like it in general yes do you like -- in this specific specific yes do you think that the Obama administration shouldn't be trying to overturn it.

Yes so it it scores no matter how -- -- -- why -- the senate Democrats think that there's an opportunity to be had here by doing what they're doing.

There's and there are a couple of things number one -- also pulls the still around 70% of the American saver policies and laws that do you allow.

Undocumented immigrants in the United States a path to citizenship so it kind of evens itself out a little bit here but I think.

Only comes down to it as we get when it comes time to vote.

Particular groups of voters are going to remember things that affect -- -- -- -- that are very important today and there may be a lot of people who look at other things.

This is going to stick in the minds of those Latino voters and I think the Republicans better be wary because there may be a couple of Latino voters outside of South Florida that will still vote Republican maybe it's amazing -- and they're gonna scare them away tip.

You're just getting that -- so the and by the way should clarify.

Internet -- Chuck Schumer is doing as the Supreme Court has been here on Wednesday arguments on the Obama administration's ever do Justice Department.

This block this -- successfully blocked it through the lower court the Supreme Court hears arguments on Wednesday Chuck Schumer is having hearings today and says.

If the Supreme Court upholds this law that allows it to stand there's going to be what will be necessarily symbolic vote in the senate to force Republicans on the record.

In support of this law.

You've been you've you know these folks know what's gonna happen if that if that measure.

For -- -- -- -- -- a dangerous game that structure is playing because you're either going you're you're you're playing with fire -- you're trying to go for Latino voters but in the same time.

You don't want to offend all those other voters especially independent voters to support the Arizona -- of these battleground states.

Going in the election it's really unclear and a Dicey game it's kind of a point possible where he's going with that.

Right and -- are certainly states where would help and you can look at Florida and you can look at New Mexico is to stage with hot senate races.

They're basically toss -- -- may be lean be a little bit where this could be very difficult but as I look out across the rest of the country Garland I look at Wisconsin.

And I look at Michigan and I look at Ohio and I look at Missouri and I look at North Dakota and Montana and I even look at -- and look at Massachusetts.

I don't see how in any of those states it helps the Democrat running to be affiliated with trying to shut down this legislation.

Yet but there are regional issues also I mean this -- this one issue is not going to decide.

In itself is not gonna decide the entire election but he couldn't decide it for the Latino vote.

So while there are other areas where -- could have a negative effect for the Democrat by the same token there are other issues you know when they get up to Ohio and Michigan they're gonna start talking about the auto industry and -- -- is there and the people will be focused on those issues and as they focus on there you know American voters can be very parochial.

And as they Begin to focus on their own personal issues.

These types of differences are going to start to take effect -- -- groups and blocs of voters as opposed to.

Individual voters.

So -- -- I am Tim -- running down in Virginia that has a large population of immigrant voters.

But also as a large.

Illegal immigration problem that has a lot of suburban voters all.

I doubt been unhappy about what's going on in terms of school districts and what's going on with government spending and all of these things in the in the collar -- of Washington DC and somewhat down at Richmond.

If I'm Tim -- I don't want to see this come to pass you.

Know you were you -- anyone is talking like you would really rather not have this you don't want to be talking about.

You know the concerns of your -- you wanna be talking about jobs and the economy wanna talk about education and roads that.

That it's concerned Virginia I'm from Wisconsin that is the last thing ensure that Tammy Baldwin is going to -- to have to deal with that except your time for self.

She does not want to be in Racine talking about illegal immigration than a week before the election that that is accurate you know I should tell you I should tell you guys this.

They both have great Twitter handles is -- kind of Twitter handle everybody ought to have because it's their name yet.

That's why it's so good well that's in the names are fine right I'm not saying that the names are cool.

But what I'm saying is that Twitter handle is -- as if you know their names.

-- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- Hands down.

That's what he said he -- said that directly to you wouldn't of had to wait you can follow me at cease fire -- on Twitter while you're on -- following these guys.

And you can get my power play every day.

Right there in your little Twitter rocks just -- just for the price of a click.

So that's available.

And guys I thank you for being with us -- -- -- -- as a lot of fun.
