And you know you should mention President Bush who leads by example this is how he does it you know this is a charitable endeavor it's called the W hundred K don't -- -- for warrior.

And -- -- doing this now every year this is a great inspiration for the for the veterans.

They are heroes in the war -- but more heroic even it's coming try to come back to society if you've been injured like there's.

We're going to be riding in the 96 degree -- Bryant.

Hydration is going to be a huge issue keeping in the -- lights and guess what there's rattlesnakes in this canyon believe it or not I gotta watch out for rattlesnakes out here.

He's a professor he's actually the very first wounded veteran that has gone on to get a doctorate.

And and he stayed an active duty is a major in the army and he's an amazing story he was wounded by and I paid back in 2005.

-- major -- tell us how you recovered and how you got back to teaching after that.

-- present yet so so when one of -- wakes up in the hospital in your flat on your back here and here you're thinking oh my goodness have been mangled.

You have to go through -- whole process of reintegrating and and and then.

Working really hard on finding what we call a new normal.

It's up for me a new normal was okay how -- and how much can -- get back to where physically fit.

How much to get to be where it can be a good dad and a good husband and and then I'm gonna worry about what I'm gonna do for a job and stuff and so so.

Events like this -- an inspiration to me from the beginning you see these -- -- you know riding with.

With one leg or skiing with one -- -- running with one leg right well I am now but -- early on it was it really important for me to see the example of guys who have gone before me and so I'm hoping.

Cut it to be an example for guys are coming behind me now.

How is president burst of inspiration for this kind of Iran does -- lead by example here wolf.

Ice ice I worked in the White House from 2007 -- 2008 doing they're veterans policy for the president.

And I was in a meeting one time and he said he said to some -- wars who were there he said he said.

I personally was in charge of making the decisions that got you where you are -- your life today and my government is gonna do everything it can't make it right and he did that when he was in office.

With thru -- policy and things like that and he's doing it now as a private citizen where he's bringing in wounded warriors and it's bringing in these organizations.

And raising awareness for the kind of thing that they're doing which is really really special.

President Bush taking personal responsibility for the war and -- -- -- exactly.

Why did you have a question yeah I did doctor -- number one I think it's great that you're doing this and major I don't know if you fully aware of this and doctor and I know you're not.
