So sure initial vision for take your daughter and it was always stick your daughter and son -- Well it was first about daughters because it it marked every ten years you get this great research on girls.

But the -- came out early ninety's about pre adolescent girls and how you could.

Actually help them you know fight against what comes in the add them so to speak you know we'll be beautiful and stop thinking.

And that took us two years to invent a campaign in -- the right people and it was such a simple idea but I have to tell you -- was seven women and fax machine.

We had no idea of the media created this they -- the Internet before there was -- and.

I'm just gonna say I can tell -- back in the day because I haven't seen a fax machine -- time.

And I felt like -- and that is the -- that beeping noise.

And it's really more then just.

Even this notion of modeling.

What you do for your child like that might bella is five and so I brought her work ever since she was three I didn't do it today that a school project today.

But you know I bring -- work and now she tells me what she wants to do and and she's very -- of the fact that she's looking forward to getting.

You know -- going on in life and working and she wants to go to college although she told my husband she's never getting married if she wants salute with us forever.

That had happened to.

Change next year but -- -- I estimate there's.

This idea of empowerment.

And women and young girls serving well.

What does that mean.

Well wasn't -- saying this after a few years at first it was the notion that.

If a younger -- issue particularly pre adolescent girl.

And what you do and you take an interest in her.

It starts to actually build a kind of resilience.

You know against you know the stuff that comes at them on television.

But it morphed in the last few years -- a way I like to have girls take -- leadership I mean you can't -- in your life when you.

When you feel better about yourself -- adolescent for God's sakes.

But Girl Scouts why all these groups started to say -- should be talking about girls leading because.

Frankly what girls fight against start things that if they were in charge of of the stations are the news are.

The campaign said actually -- so much about their bodies and not their minds and that -- change that.

So they've really started to put girls the leadership thing up for girls and girls are great and you know great leaders -- take charge of fun.

I think we're pretty special but then it broadens out to -- what did you feel they need to exit include poisonous.

Welcome to be honest -- mothers and you know show me a woman without guilt and I'll show you -- man I'll say this.

And -- guy guilty I mean they really felt like their sons.

You know.

What were.

Or needing something and believe me I work for the men's organizations for years because I told them I would take their sons to child care centers.

If that's what they want an -- health care centers where women work because they wanted us to take their sons and they said no that would punish them.

And how do I thought that was interesting food but after a while both the companies and mothers.

Felt that they were you know.

Not doing right -- other sons and what I realize is that research come out about how.

-- life's little boys to migrate to life.

What -- expected to be a part of their family life expected to be home with their children for certain amount of time.

And I thought given all this coming together -- we should push this notion of you know using this -- think about parental leave family medical leave the things that -- boys and girls and actually men and women now want flexibility.

Well and I I've read that you guys have walked away from the the dusty fax machine I'm assuming it has dust on it -- -- using it -- I don't FaceBook.

Yes and as a she smiled a little -- on I don't hear you good.

It's about the good tie in now on line because I would imagine people -- I just put out of my Twitter page are probably watching me yeah -- -- -- you're not having that problem I had to that the -- But I just put a tweet up that says if you're at work today with your children you know treat you pick -- you're taking your daughter son if you feel like you want to do that.

I'm working with two young amazingly brilliant women who started something called face -- FaceBook right.

And they are asking FaceBook to put women on their -- before then -- you know before they go public has actually.

Women are the primary content providers for FaceBook.

And they provide the profits in the -- half the users.

So we we did this and that that I realized when I met the mother than the first thing she said to me was.

My daughter -- co -- in this campaign are calling mini net and I took to work all ahead on C we got a bunch of grown up girls to.

You know -- sometimes and women my age are like -- well aware of those young women aren't they doing more they aren't doing more I've never said that however an outlet.
