Okay.

Okay.

That was Arizona governor Jan Brewer getting a kind of unfriendly reception from -- -- some pro amnesty activists outside the United States Supreme Court here in Washington.

On Wednesday.

As the Supreme Court was getting ready to hear arguments on Obama administration challenge.

To her State's law that says that state authorities shall inquire as to.

The immigration status of anybody they stopped for another offense that they think might be in the country illegally.

And this is power play alive from Georgetown universe today.

-- he didn't go to Georgetown I don't think but he knows a lot of stuff about this issue he is congressman David Schweigert.

He represents the fifth district of Arizona.

That's Scottsdale Tempe.

And parts of the state -- to the east of Phoenix.

And it includes.

A lot of -- accounting which happens to be sort of ground zero for the fight over illegal immigration.

In the United States congressman what -- -- -- and all this is wonderful and I hope you'll.

Being a -- double.

-- -- They can forgive me being from West Virginia different forgive you anything about how your question that -- true that's probably another question for you.

Is this.

Your governor.

As has been way out in front on this and he is out there on this law.

And she says that it's essentially a border security question.

That for Arizona to be because of federal government has not she says protected the southern border of the United States that she's obliged that the government of the -- and as -- watch do some.

And this is what they can do.

We'll think about this there you just walk through I -- I've always been shocked that the if you want to protest you should be protesting congress the administration the federal government.

Think about a Mike county it's one of the biggest companies in the country but the cost we have to our education system to our healthcare system -- incarceration.

-- local taxpayers the local citizens are the ones carrying that financial burden for the failure of the federal government.

So at some point you got to step up and say look I need to defend my local folks I'm going to actually enforce the federal law that the feds aren't enforcing.

And then we get folks whose protest and this and that.

So I'm gonna give you one off I think much of the political leader we see on this.

He's actually back to your previous conversation an attempt -- from certain groups to gin up their base.

A lot of this because if you actually look at that SB 1070 law -- and given a fair read.

It's not really all that scary it's just like what we went through the employer sanctions law that the Supreme Court.

But I'll tell but the concern that's expressed by these active -- Is that it is a premise a pretext for racial profiling and that Hispanics are going to be basically harassed.

Going to be watching them mistreating an ice cream cone in the next thing you know will.

But exactly but that would be against the law right -- and just that's an area so I actually listened to many of the protesters who were getting a buying microphones cystic.

And what they're miles were saying had nothing to do with the law that was great political -- was a great way to get people excited and start supporting one cause over another.

But -- actually wasn't true.

And that's when my great frustrations and something whenever you touch immigration -- Medicare medic in all the other big issues around us he is political feeder.

Vs facts.

Well now on on this issue basically what do you think in a perfect world.

What you were solution at a federal level what would you be doing well.

-- in particular being a border state of you who you have to also deal with the reality of the transfer cost.

On whether be it if you're a citizen of -- on our New Mexico or even parts of California know where you have.

Large amounts of illegal immigration.

A lot of that is also drug traffic and there bad acts that are going on.

There's even just a few miles south in my district.

There's actually.

Public land with signs saying don't -- into this public land it's too dangerous for you.

We start to conceptually understand that you understand the failure of the federal government so yes you're gonna have to do.

Quality border protection -- have block of that border but the other half of the undocumented population the country are folks that have overstayed their visas.

-- -- if blockbuster video can figure out when I'm late.

Why can't they figure out when someone -- overstayed a visa.

So and so it's the tying the federal government if we're making the investments also invest in rational technology that helps deal with the mechanics and the issue.

You love technology Internet I know you love technology you -- technology for goodness sakes.

Congress -- we got to let you go but let's hear it for -- this year.

Everything okay.
