But later but first.

This Sony is Internet -- and and recognizing that the digital age can -- bring the church into the 21 century of reaching the previous.

-- reachable it also highlights the good and out of social media and how it is transforming.

Religion and -- if and who better to talk to with that about is that doctor -- -- founder of Jesus Daly who joins me on the second warning that the government and had a good morning -- I think it's the you aren't you know event.

You have the -- dailies of Facebook's most active page.

And why is that why do we account for that.

Well I think people worldwide is this is an anti institution movement worldwide -- -- anti government anti military anti religions of religious establishment.

And it Jesus daily we focus on a personal relationship with Christ just getting back to the new testament times and people are really drawn to that.

As we see the website right now you've got to.

Twelve point six million fans at 67% of the fans are female.

151000 prayers in the first 22 hours.

With some of the top prayer requests talk about what the top prayer requests is.

Health of family and friends that's 23%.

It was really interesting so I didn't conducted a poll -- say what's your number one prayer request and the number one prayer request is for the health of family and friends not personal health so people are more concerned.

About their family and friends than they or themselves which I think some really good.

Indicator of Christ's second command to us about loving thy neighbor and I think we're seeing that on FaceBook is particularly on Jesus daily.

And you know it I'm I'm actually surprised at number two because it really is.

Sort of more spiritual in nature and number two is God's guidance and wisdom eighteen point 5% does that surprise you to what does it say something about who we are.

Will I think it says a lot develop the troubled times worldwide from fear of war that economic times people really want God's guidance and I know we've talked a little bit before about how maybe politicians should be looking at there -- You know their speeches and their messaging if someone said that hey I'm gonna pray for God's guidance on how to run this -- country bring us back into prosperity and to.

-- generate peace among the communities here ethnic groups and worldwide it would go a long long way in the faith community on who they decide to vote.

What counts -- -- -- a very interesting point because you combine the two that with the health care issue that I think that's going to be.

Unwary contentious in 2012 and the fact that it is -- number one concern for prayer requests what is it sort of tell you about how this is going with.

The health care mandate in because -- a doctor I -- you are a medical doctor.

You have a medical doctor you know the full the -- -- -- force for personal -- -- when you combine the personal -- with the help of family and friends it is the most dominant number one prayer request.

I think with the aging population we're seeing our parents go through knee replacements and not having enough money for prescription.

And with what.

The the recession people don't literally don't have enough money to put pay for their blood pressure medication so they're suffering very ill effects earlier on in life and so I think it's just a real indicator.

That people are seeing their friends and family and personal.

-- deteriorate in not having the money -- the resources.

Two you know to live healthy.

Do you think that the health -- mandate and all of the things are surrounding.

On the health care issues in the United States and anything that will be the deciding factor.

In -- -- the election and we talk about -- -- in a lot of polls but this the first time I've never seen a poll says they talked temporary press.

And family and friends that's got to mean something in terms of how people view health care and how they will vote yeah.

Yeah I think so I think politicians need to pay particular attention to -- calls remember this is a for a public forum on FaceBook -- Jesus daily work people are posting.

Their prayer requests for all of their friends list and even strangers to see and the fact that they will list specific things about their hell that is usually very private and confidential.

Out in the open means that this is a very important thing that they wanna see our leaders.

-- dress and take care of so it'll certainly be a very -- heavily in this year's election I believe.

You know there was just a little article you know week in and week magazine talking about social media and how the good and bad and the ugly of it and basically some of the good was of course.

That.

-- can -- -- -- lot of friends and but then the other side is that we can present a person to the world that -- not.

Based on reality we can present who we want to present not the real person.

I mean it -- -- it and then I think the AARP says you know 35% of adults over 45 are chronically lonely.

Hurry and that the end FaceBook and those kinds of of social media big don't.

Changed.

Yet either way I think with the religious pages though what we ceiling Jesus Staley is people say hey this is my connection to the outside world -- we have people that are taking care of loved ones yeah they're lonely.

And I think the calls of the relive the release religious -- -- that relationship the personal relationship with Christ.

People at least on Jesus Daley maybe not and social media as a whole but they're finding real connections that satisfy their psychological.

In emotional needs.

Yeah and then and then didn't didn't.

And that I see this on a -- go to Starbucks.

It's a and gives them the ability to sort of compress everybody -- -- to a -- highest form rather -- the same time.

The pew form is actually saying that more people.

-- more on FaceBook can say they have more confidence than people who are not on FaceBook.

So I mean and you think the jury's kind of still don't you think well it out -- what the effects of it are on yeah.

Yeah I think FaceBook can trivialize your friendships -- that it does reduce them down to very short contact points and who can truly have 5000 friends right.

Somebody once said if you.

Pass with five.

Close friends in your lifetime.

You've lived a very rich full life but with FaceBook it's easy to have very short meaningless communications we have a lot of people but you know we're.

We did Jesus daily -- trying to do a lot with what we see with these for example from a a discount drug -- to help people who can't afford their medicines -- a partnership with Bible 360 for people who need better electronic tool needs to read the Bible and to grow closer to god and have that guidance from god and and the prayer requests received one interesting thing ended wanna point out is that.

The job prayer for jobs was very low which that really surprise -- people really are not praying for jobs as it -- -- to what they're praying for what we saw over and over in the survey was that people were praying that they won't.

-- -- -- retraining exam -- that funding would become available for them to be retrained so.

I believe people are looking past finding a job.

In thinking more a belt being retrained for a job.

Finally another super interesting point is prayer for the poor and hungry was number nine on the list.

Very very low but when you look at nine of the top ten ministries of -- they're all humanitarian.

Based so people are getting from their wallets as a very high priority but in terms of that being hyper worried to pray for its very low on the list but I guess in this case actions speak louder than words.

Wonder well I think you so much of OJ under -- around barometer it's.

I Jesus daily and Jesus elite just Jesus daily dot com -- I don't FaceBook dot com Mae West sessions this daily and Jesus in the end what the most active site.

On -- but it.

I -- prayer -- struggling just need encouragement come over more there's millions of people there to speak with you.

I -- thank you so much thank you very much.
