One year later you can still see the destruction left over from a massive outbreak of tornadoes across the US.

A record 208.

Twisters touched down killing more than 300.

People across the country.

And leaving staggering damage behind and making it one of the worst weather days in US history especially hard hit the state of Alabama.

Chief meteorologist Rick right muses on the ground right now in Tuscaloosa Rick.

Johnny had 250 of those fatalities were in Alabama in 53 of those happened here in Tuscaloosa.

We were here on the ground last year in Tuscaloosa and one thing when you're covering these kinds of stories you find that.

Everybody has their story and their experience from the storm and they're not always ready to talk about it just yet.

-- -- the last couple of days and have ever had the opportunity -- with some people who've been impacted.

Up by this storm -- a wanna take a look at some pictures here and show you this is one home that was destroyed in the tornado.

And it was inhabited by three college students three girls and one of those girls was at school studying at the time.

But -- two roommates Lauren and Danielle were in the home at the time they were very frightened they called their friend will to come over.

And will and the girl's got together in the in the bathroom of the of the home and huddled together.

And they all died.

And the family -- and and the family as well this -- that this surviving or later kind of ready to talk we have some pictures here.

Of Lauren name they wanted to kind of pay tribute to them there's Lauren and there's Danielle and there's ten.

And Tim's sister really wanted to talking about -- how special her brother is ticket take a listen to what Taylor had to say.

He wanted to protect his friends and heating -- he was a big chicken.

But that day he'd put on that aside and laid on top ten girls and tried to take his -- -- -- things.

He warning them to be a pain on nine million.

The home was destroyed obviously you can see by those pictures and visit daughter Kelly.

Kelly the one who lived in the home -- -- you can see the pictures in the home and they've rebuilt the home.

Her -- donated to home that I heard Oliver Brothers lived in as it went through college she was the last one in college and she had kind of a life altering experience because of this and she married her sweetheart that she was with because she -- life was short.
