Welcome back -- is eight at seven minutes for the hours he's been.

A land swap ends the eleven year fight to restore the Mojave Desert veterans memorial.

A federal judge signed an order to bring -- to cross back to the sunrise Iraq.

And now it is a matter of getting a land transferred.

A veteran of foreign -- foreign wars lawsuit is planning to make sure that transfer happens joining us right now is the president.

And CEO of the liberty institute -- back.

Kelly great to have you here so.

Just -- very quickly what is the significance tells the significance of the cross at sunrise walk -- what did -- get there what was the story behind it.

Well it was put up in 1934 about World War I veterans who -- come back from the war in just wanted to make sure and honor their friends say they put up alone cross in the middle of one point six million acres of desert.

And I just had to sign underneath that is set for the debt of all wars and had their VFW post.

And it's been there for should be there now for 78 years and that there is a lawsuit filed by the ACLU to have it torn down.

And originally they got that order and there -- a bag over it it was really disgraceful.

But the Supreme Court reversed that.

But now we've been in a fight to get it back up and so we we we are now one step closer to a final victory.

For our veterans and really a nail in the coffin against what the ACLU was trying to do so essentially what happened here is there there's a land swap.

Basically give us the story behind that.

-- congress when they saw all these original orders that said they're gonna tear down a national veterans memorial.

They they were really worried well there's a gentleman and came forward who owns five acres of land in that federal preserve and said look I'll give you my five acres if you just give this one anchor.

Back to the veterans who put this up.

Congress thought that was a great idea that the ACLU suit against that as well and said oh look you're trying to do something favorable towards this cross.

And of course congress at all course we're trying to save -- veteran's memorial.

And so that's again part of what had to be overturned at the Supreme Court and again.

Where we -- and they don't allow that vandals came out tore down we haven't been allowed to -- to put up a replica of the actual memorial.

Because the Obama administration has refused to allow us to do that until the land is in the hands of the VFW yeah.

So we're now one step closer to getting that memorial back up and as soon as we get the land it is going back up exactly as it was seven.

Henry and Wanda Sandoz have yet to validate that they're the ones -- donated the land -- going -- as soon as this happens.
