Welcome back Tuesday may first will mark one year since the death of Osama bin Laden navy seal team six taking down the terror leader.

But terrorism experts warn that the threat from al-Qaeda -- It's still very real saying that the terror group is still planning pay back.

Our panel panel is back Ellen Ratner Judith Miller and Mary Walters to -- start with you this time safety that threaten.

Is still real and we still need to be on guard I think would be foolish not to think that the threat is still real they -- be diminished they need be hobbled somewhat but there are if they're like cockroaches and in their terrorists is because they have a different name doesn't mean on terror organization.

So al-Qaeda in -- of itself.

May be diminished and we may have -- them and and really -- -- them but that doesn't mean that if you take out one there are twelve other organizations behind it.

That wind gets was just because of who we are yet so -- I think we'd be foolish to not.

Always been our toes but I thought it was interesting that Daniel Benjamin the State Department coordinator for counterterrorism announced that the war on terrorism.

Was.

Finish -- over what would be the reasoning behind that why would you make a statement like actually -- with the White House corrected that statement it's almost everything is made because what they the -- -- draw as they say that George Bush was waging a war against.

Terrorism throughout the world.

The Obama administration decided that it had to focus and focus like a laser on -- -- -- -- all of the affiliates all of the al-Qaeda like groups in the wanna bees and I have to say if someone is covered terrorism for thirty years now.

They have been remarkably.

Successful they have not only taken out bin Laden himself they've taken out.

I'm more -- Lackey who is the head of the major organization that was -- was going to be his successor to al-Qaeda in Yemen they have.

Increase the drone attacks in Pakistan in -- They are fighting al-Qaeda affiliates all over the world.

They have taken out to apparently made all of that credit to the Obama administration this -- been a ten year campaign that has spread began that you know it's it's everyone was George Bush but now Obama has taken the ball and run with it and I think it's going to be very hard.

To criticize him on this particular aspect of counterterrorism he is just down.

Very good job -- well I agree that it's going to be very hard to got criticized President Obama on counterterrorism because he is doing a lot of things -- George Bush.

Did and wanted to do on the other hand might actually it is play.

Yeah.

-- cut off I like her.

Okay -- is that these drone attacks are indiscriminate in many ways they are taking out people without trial.

And I have a real problem is suicide bombers indiscriminate well I understand but I thought we were a moral nation that -- that rules and is ruled by the -- block.

And trial and innocence until proven guilty etc.

And you can -- what all of this is a battlefield but how is Yemen a battlefield -- Yemen is a battlefield because it has over a thousand al-Qaeda members now.

Who are looking for quite like yeah has not declared war in Yemen and we've declared war on how I -- I.

Yeah yes obviously be nice pages of moral nation but when you're dealing with terrorists like al-Qaeda you're not dealing with people who are of moral characters say -- suggest -- -- well I suggest that we find a way to bring them to trial.

And to and to make sure that if we're gonna be using drones in countries like Yemen that there is a specific.

Congressional authority to do so we know what the -- world that we -- you speaking well no that is not true we had a very specific declaration of balloons are very indiscriminate we Bob -- that we had a specific declaration of war for that area of the country and that world.

And that part of the world we don't union.

It salute Alan for one reason the left has been extremely silent on the issues that she's raising why because they don't want to criticize the president.

From the civil libertarian view.

There are -- I agree with you tremendous.

Questions raised by what -- some of what the president is doing but she never hear.

The liberal.

Establishment in this kind I don't know it's -- -- -- -- -- -- another time eleven incident from happening but I'll tell you think they can protect actually -- or for any you know.

-- a good job George Bush.

You kind of didn't yeah.

Yeah ideology.

Not -- -- our program has single handedly.

-- between a half million and a million people are not to I don't underneath me thank you love doing it and say yeah conversation today.
