She survived four days in the desert with a broken leg and she's now telling her story.

59 year old Victoria Grover went hiking near Garfield County Utah bringing -- some light gear and a few snacks with her.

We get more from fox Salt Lake.

Last Tuesday afternoon Victoria Grover set out for a day hike to see and creek.

A remote part of Garfield County she stayed overnight with no problem but the next day she broke her leg.

I was working my way back to where the trail head was and I jumped to about three or four feet.

And there was a rock under the sand and it hit -- -- and I had a broken leg my leg went this way so my knee was right here.

But my foot went that way.

Using a walking stick Grover created a makeshift split and crawled thirty yards to see and creek she found water.

But had no food or shelter -- another big problem.

Her main issue I think was -- hypothermia was certainly could have died at their because the last night I know I was very hypothermic because I stopped shivering.

The 59 year old woman slept in the day and built fires at night.

Battling hallucinations she prayed rescuers were -- -- by date that I would be found me and I also was.

-- by that point I was much more peaceful with my faith that -- ever happened would be okay.

We -- hurting check out of her hotel room the staff called 911.

And cops found her car rental agreement that was key because they tracked the car down -- that eventually her.

It was a UHV helicopter that -- I am tremendously grateful to be here I and that's particularly grateful to the sheriff's department.

Two with the deputies in Garfield county and the volunteers that came out to find me doctors say she'll be out of the hospital in two to three days.

Chad minimal preparation but she was prepared -- and then she didn't -- you know I mean she just she kept -- on I think she could've.

It's -- Sunday she probably could have made -- percent and I -- we would have -- -- and horrible shape he TS -- Jean Kennedy and that story good for her that.

And I and I are old wire -- himself well done and you know hikers out -- take -- she did it right in order to survive it's just hike along.
