Start your engines the race is on for a key voting bloc come November.

Recovered about NASCAR voters racing fans they tend to be white middle class in southern.

And was an estimated 75 million of them out there there's a little surprised that the chase is on for their votes.

Take veteran conservative activist Ralph Reed for instance his faith and freedom coalition sponsored car with the message register to vote.

Mary Katharine -- of the daily caller is a Fox News contributor she's ready to race here Juan Williams also a Fox News political analyst.

So which candidate wins the checkered flag among NASCAR voters this is something that was us in this discussion stimulate -- Mary Katherine.

By an article in Politico.

It it never occurred to me that NASCAR has a huge can student constituency.

And candidates might want to try to get their message out but can they do it effectively.

Right well they're huge events there's a bunch of people in one place and obviously white middle class rural and ex urban voters -- tend to be.

Are very important are.

Barack Obama and Hillary wouldn't have the stage such a nasty fight over -- in places like Pennsylvania during their primary fight it's always a big deal in the general election because they matter in swing states like Pennsylvania.

Virginia and now North Carolina -- becoming purple.

I think both Mitt Romney and Obama facing cultural challenges reaching folks like this.

And they they always have -- -- interesting the -- -- for you saw that there were conservative surrogate different groups that are more grassroots conservative.

As opposed to Mitt Romney out there during the voter registration -- up I think that might be more.

Effective way of senator Ronnie going out and acting like he's -- huge NASCAR -- yes so what -- I can't see the value of plastering Barack Obama's image or Mitt Romney's image on the hood of a car I mean that's not gonna necessarily win you a lot of modes in November -- it.

Well I don't think so but I must say that I think Ralph -- always been a very Smart political strategist and what he's it's really point to here is that if you look at Barack Obama's numbers with white man.

They've been going down in fact that's a big drag on his reelection bid I think in 08.

He won about 39% of white -- now it's down about 30% so that's been the biggest source of loss in terms of his constituency.

Never been a great one but you know you what you're saying there's substantial loss because there's a large number of white man.

But I would pick up on something Mary Katherine with things so delicately which is I don't think Mitt Romney have a lot of populist appeal.

To white southern religious males I think a lot of them are thinking hey that's a rich guy I don't know that he can understand what my life is like.

But in NASCAR Mary -- where Chevy's always battling it out with Ford I mean for -- and take the bailout but GM did and President Obama say hey -- say gee am.

She -- -- -- I'm not sure that's gonna be the best argument to make I think you know.

Although I think one's -- -- does is not super strong with this consistency in making personal connections.

I think that probably a lot of them are tired of the Barack Obama.

A term they've looked at the unemployment rate is a lot of folks down in North Carolina.

That you are acts that they came out the military came back -- of dancing can't find jobs employment rate is higher in North Carolina than it is.

In other states and so I think yes muscles especially.

With a few democratic scandals in North Carolina to boot and gaining any ground them in a place -- -- form well you know one that that message that Ralph -- group sponsored on that race car registered to vote.

I mean that helps both parties doesn't.

Well it's not a -- -- directing it right at the white male southern constituency -- talking about Louisiana Alabama Georgia Mississippi.

I don't think there's any question those -- red states John and so what you wanna do is make sure your folks get to the polls and I think so that's why I think it's a Smart political move now remember.

That you've got to have some issues behind it's I guess the issues could be things like.

You know the price -- gas in the country.

You know maybe concern about the -- the big government and government not intruding on your life.

-- have to see how those messages fit because -- got to have some substance behind simply having.

The name on the hood of the car the Democrats are gonna come back with their convention in Charlotte which is the -- -- -- you know so we'll see how that all -- that remember.

John McCain tried this in -- Rick Santorum try to right now in the Republican primaries I don't they didn't come out on the winning end North Carolina Florida Virginia Pennsylvania all swing states and all happened to have big NASCAR races -- -- nugget of news there.

Mary Katharine Ham Juan Williams thank you bigger.
