Well investigators try to piece together what happened.

Neighbors struggle to piece together how and why it happened very sacking.

But this morning the man neighbors say was in his fifties called 911 threatening suicide.

Firefighters and deputies arrived and when they -- there was a baby in the home they force their way in.

There they found the father lying on the floor they eventually found a six month old in the fridge.

They say the father confessed to killing the baby and then he might have been in the middle of the drug overdose.

Even veteran detectives are having trouble making sense of this crime.

They won't release any names at this point but they do say dad had a criminal record the history -- using drugs and they describe the relationship with the child's mother as volatile.

The baby's mother moved -- a month ago but was coming by today to bring money for baby supplies and discuss taking custody of the baby.

She apparently got word of her child's death when she was on the way here we can't maintenance.
