I'm gonna go to California -- fact that same Francisco because that Thomas Moyer is there he's the author of conservative.
-- five survival guide -- to San Francisco a tale of two cities.
-- boy mr.
Moy very very good -- what mr.
Moyer calling mr.
-- pardon me but how old are you.
I just turned 32 days ago he -- if you look like you're containing good for you if you've -- can stay looking young.
Somebody call you tell is -- okay I'm negative light mr.
Moyer are made a key it's on its own dad Thomas could tell me about this but the synopsis of conservative survival guide to San Francisco tale of two cities.
And -- your target audience.
So my target audience first of all anybody who is coming to the city of the tourists aren't coming here to live.
-- -- -- really what I've found is that as you looking at San Francisco you really tell look -- it at two different lenses so.
On the first side you helped all the reasons why people move here in the first place so the culture of the city the terrorists and so forth.
But there's also another -- you get further down the rabbit hole you cannot find this other side is what I -- the people's republic of San Francisco.
Which for -- some kind of stereo -- at the very open minded city.
It sure doesn't apply to those with conservative ideals.
So -- doesn't you can have the background of the body into you wrote this book because you had firsthand experience.
And a bad experience -- -- you say that when you were trying to go out and registered conservatives there in San Francisco yeah that.
Yes so I'm very active in registering voters -- of -- groups here in San Francisco look at the register.
You know Republicans independents really anybody who wants to have more.
Your contribution -- the city and -- build a vote.
I'm a lot times -- -- to vote we get yelled out chastising spit on a hundred times I don't com why come out with I don't get it why I'm.
-- it's funny once it's it would go out there it's -- able labelling your back you -- -- a big deal California Republican final front.
People tend failed can't take that the wrong way that how -- you go look at look at is -- to say.
You know I'll agree with steel and I'm gonna tell you about it felt OK calling it brought people unfortunately that's.
Eating onion that's that's excessive and and and and quite ridiculous and -- so it has anyone been arrested as a result of that.
-- -- -- -- -- they actually try to get the police -- arrest us and take a software she actually never do things have a legal right to be there.
But it's not just me and we have Vietnam war veterans -- -- -- spit on as well.
Mom I think this is very ridiculous I'm very uncivil -- you -- very open minded city like San Francisco was supposed to be.
I'm just not always the case.
And I'm I'm surprised -- and -- not discounting what you're telling me because I would imagine that even.
-- and I think that people can coexist.
Even now with polar political point of view and I'm surprised that my -- is sort of reaction so so tell me about your campaigning like what do you guys do is your typical where you Wear shirts that we are conservatives and we want you to join -- party.
How does that work.
No we usually go to street fairs is a lot of street first Mozilla funds -- first -- -- On music has set up shop on either like an ironing board we might have reserves space at the street fair and contribute to that particular year ended up halo -- or anything that say things that say we're conservative so we don't like you -- You or your your your your what your sexual preferences or -- female we certainly don't want to hear anything about your -- says.
To choose whether or not you would you know need to for whatever reason terminate a pregnancy are -- -- -- those types of you know literature and that's causing people -- yet.
Definitely not know the toy thing literally sitting out is -- focusing on really the fiscal issues so.
You know if -- Cisco really got it -- -- to pick and choose your battles at the end of the day so.
But we just gonna focus on things like education on fiscal reform.
You know healthcare and -- -- -- a focus all things that really apply to everybody not just conservatives but liberals progressives like.
These -- we have very different ways of achieving those those goals but -- that might be why he get the the backlash but.
On the day of the day we just -- sitting there there's you know California Republican -- at the bottom.
Which typically kind of Kenneth into the red flag for a lot of people over here who are none of that band so now what you write the book.
So I wrote the book I say the reason I -- they've moved here about ten years ago.
You know I moved from another liberal stayed up in the through the Washington.
Although as a lot more civil affair me a lot of my name is up there were a lot more.
You know courteous and and so forth but I moved on -- ten years ago.
I'm -- wrote a blog on that -- transition to a book.
And for someone who -- came to the city not have expecting the backlash that.
Republican -- conservative would have the kind of wonder of drought -- the bad the wacky parts of the city and coming at people tour of the city quick question -- You say you wrote a blog you start -- -- how popular is that blog and what do you espoused on that block that life.
So what's funny is the blog actually start out as -- -- mechanisms and to some degrees -- religious right to keep up on on current events and so forth.
About Siena being paid on it so have the block on the blog and and actually -- paid -- so let's turn from a hobby to a profession to some degree.
I'm so Beckham moved in into the book cyber daddy you know popular area where.
Here's where I'm going with this I don't think I don't I don't think that anyone should be.
This person spitting on anyone that's the growth suspect that I can imagine that what I am -- -- -- that no of course not.
But -- -- where I am going with this and it it it seems like when every year the reaction is not coming out of the blue against kidding aside there's no excuse me that that people's opposition -- per -- perhaps coming out today.
Say things to you why -- out there campaigning artsy thing trying to get people registered to vote.
If infect your blog has become popular then you're not just some guy.
Some nobody out there who's wearing assured the system were conservative Republicans your more than that -- I know about layered where they're coming from so they are reacting to something you're you're sort of paint a picture that the people out there.
They're lungs they're coming out of left field with no.
Nothing that's inciting their reaction at all but there is something that's inciting again no one should spit on you or anyone else and that's -- -- But you're not -- -- is innocent little young looking kid out there come on.
Yeah but the thing is -- those people do not know the -- People reading my blog in the first place so I think what they're looking out of the finest says the Republican -- and says I'm gonna get that guy found.
And that's I think the editorial direction of that but you know it's not just -- I worry about it's also.
Other volunteers even Vietnam War vets who've actually spelled as well were volunteers which is despicable and it's despicable is where it is there's there's good -- the city I tried to.
You know lean toward the good kind of push off the -- -- a lot of good in San Francisco it's a beautiful city absolutely.
Even their -- the reason I lose your mind -- -- yet you had gone absolutely.
And now you're thirty years have actually -- bought a house the city -- a thing wait a minute okay.
Year and you just turned 32 years ago tease me two days ago and you bought a house in San Francisco.
-- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- You must be doing something right well.
That black I do what I -- elect technologies so there's all the blood tech over here in California so that's -- -- the good reason the reason why I'm standing here so keep up this kind of pushing back -- all the the things that I don't like and they'll put Soledad well you keep up the good work you're obviously doing something right.
In 3030 -- -- -- how about that when.
Thank you ended there that's Thomas Moyer there's his book it's -- conservative survival guide to San Francisco a tale of two cities pick it up if he'd like.
