I'm not sure I'd say it's epidemic here we -- you've got a culture of folks sure we have very high stress jobs law enforcement they're entitled to blow off steam but I do you think that -- The secretary and her team -- right to have a zero tolerance policy on things overseas.

When they're protecting the president or some other dignitary.

That you know we can't have people overseas and -- where their risk of being bribed or -- the president or high ranking officials.

But again I I do don't I wouldn't say it's an epidemic I just think there's something that.

We need to have new rules like the things they put in place probably makes sense considering the lack of -- as shown by these particular officers.

And when you say that -- Secret Service agents are -- -- blow off steam you don't you don't mean like.

In a visit prostitutes without.

Now I'm I'm at now obviously there's there's good things that have probably -- cross that line but I again I don't think we need to be totally a Big Brother here.

The officer should have known better these new rules and hopefully put some more kinds of plays to do a really kind of get the most ridiculous behavior off -- off the agenda OK but you know we we don't -- -- be an out the adults I have have writes I just think -- you know we need to have a situation these guys are.

-- us sort out the US it -- Special I would assume that the house out there are no doubt that the judge you went and it says that would Seward says that and I -- during these it would all good -- -- third title at the time when they're in a foreign country.

It applies to Secret Service agents who were in a position.

Odd to have access to the president's schedule it yet -- he is is plans when he's in a foreign country.

And reject you and I could have -- I mean appointment he beat -- out pretty nice dinner right now denies -- -- -- I wouldn't bring bunkers back yet out of my room you know would you know.

I -- This is an argument that we need more women in senior positions in the Secret Service you have a like different idea of blowing off steam.

I don't think we've got an epic and here.

But I really don't think boys will be boys when they're protecting the president when there are ambassadors to pride I think we have a right to expect.

That they behavior in the same way they would behave in Washington DC in that they.

You know can -- blowing off steam sit activities that they would be willing to tell their wives about.

Well and you know I I think -- the complicating it complicating issue here of course is that.

You know why that if you've got a guy who is you know cavorting with prostitutes -- he isn't setting himself up to be very compromised.

In terms of someone giving information back home in terms of what he was doing but.

Steward should Mark Sullivan given the fact that we now have at least two investigations going on involving.

The Secret Service should he be forced to resign.

No I think he's a good man for the job he's done a good job over there they have incredibly important duties you see that the president was just on your screen earlier this dinner in town.

And they've got.

Very tough responsibilities their budget has gone up the threats -- gone up.

And I know I've worked of these guys when I was in Capitol Hill working on issues and it's a very professional organization -- obviously been lapses and again I don't mean this suggested what happened.

Down south as -- name anyway appropriate.

But I do think we need of the -- look at the bigger picture and their track record of really providing excellent service to the president this team in the light.

And hopefully these new rules of -- got -- -- get the worst behavior out of the system.

But Stewart -- -- ask you both this question do we really need these kinds of rules saying.

You shouldn't drink alcohol to excess when you know you're in a foreign country planning for the president's visit.

I mean that kind of a band aid remedy everybody feels -- and they go home Susan.

Win.

I think it depends where do you enforce the rule for I mean obviously.

You know.

I don't know I think I've told my kids growing up I don't think in professional situations they would necessarily need to be told again.

The drinking to excess it's a bad idea no matter where you -- but I think the point about Mark Sullivan is.

He got -- judge him.

Not by so much by what happened -- -- I assume that this happened before but by what he gets about it now and I think he has moved swiftly.

Aggressively he made clear that there isn't going to be any tolerance of this by setting the rules that clearly.

You can't have somebody come back and you know they're -- you.

And say oh I'm gonna sue had been wrongly discharged.

Or I had no idea I wasn't supposed to -- work with prostitutes.

When I was protecting the president.

-- it makes sense to put the rules that and then in Fort Hood are right -- Susan Estrich and does -- murdering thanks so much for being with us this evening.
