So while a bad economy is tough on all of us.

Very hard on the horses.

When she came and she went under -- pounds.

The Indiana horse rescue was an operation that survived on donations and barely broke even.

The economic collapse of 2008 hit them from two sides.

Donations dried up and have more people abandoned horses they could not afford we weren't getting enough money.

And our bills were mounting so then we would.

Borrow against our equity pay our bills and -- even.

And then more horses become -- In 2011 the shelter was left with no choice but to euthanize nearly two dozen horses.

When that went public.

Donations dropped to 10%.

Now shelter operators say they won't even taken a horse without getting a payment up front -- Points of light are people like John Chester who adopts forces from the struggling shelter you know somebody's gotta do it Chester says caring for these beautiful creatures is both a pleasure.

And a duty.

They love people.

And so people need to love them back and take care.

Now one of the horses and Chester token was a -- -- that had won a quarter million dollars over a lifetime when -- stopped making money.
