Hi everyone I'm meteorologist Maria Molina -- from the -- extreme weather center with your forecast for the northwest and also the midwest and we have a big ridge of high pressure that's built into the west.

And what happened express is pretty much a warming trend we're gonna be seeing some very warm temperatures today to kick off our workweek it's gonna be beautiful out there to look at Portland eighty degrees where hi this afternoon 84 over and -- -- finally looking -- -- let's bring light or summer like weather for us that some good -- 75 will be a high over in Reno and as we continue to track eastward.

Seeing highs a little bit cooler but still hung up not to that 64 -- -- high in Billings and high expected.

At sixty degrees in the city -- Jackson very cool over -- and I'm only expecting high at 51 degrees.

And as a take a look at the midwest -- on the warm side as well just south of the Great Lakes at Indianapolis when we're going to be seeing a high at 76 degrees.

But it will be a little cooler in Chicago 68 degrees for high temperature and the reason why it's gonna be a little bit cooler today is that we actually have a cold front that's pushing eastward through the midwest.

Producing some showers some storms and also bringing in some slightly cooler temperatures on the backside of that storm system and there's even a possibility that some of those thunderstorms and you'll see from this cold front.

-- -- funnel boundary could turn severe across parts.

Of the Great Lakes Illinois keep that in mind just south of the Great Lakes and parts of Missouri and even into northeastern Texas -- have that chance.

For some severe weather in the form of large hail damaging wind -- And even some isolated tornadoes cannot be ruled out just -- -- to stay alert otherwise -- -- -- big concern with some of those storms.

Is that flooding potential across northern parts of Illinois and also into Missouri but.

By Tuesday morning -- expect -- most of the moisture from that storm system should exit portions of Illinois.

And also Missouri -- -- living in.

Begin to see a bit more of a drying trend meanwhile Texas still -- looking at some drenching showers and storms.

Went to Minnesota could still be seeing some showers late Tuesday morning but take a look at the northwest still very -- out there -- that high pressure in place and those warm temperatures in place as well.

And as we continue into Wednesday morning still -- dry out across the northwest.

And the midwest looking pretty good -- as a high pressure continues to build eastward have a great everyone I'm meteorologist Maria Molina and the fox -- -- -- senator.
