There could be a big day for Democrats looking to oust the governor of Wisconsin.
Five candidates facing off in a primary the winner will be on the ballot next month in the recall election against Republican governor Scott Walker.
My -- on the story live from Milwaukee.
Since so that we had a good idea which Democrat will prevail in this Mike.
Well -- the Wisconsin Republicans are operating on the idea that when the votes are counted that Governor Walker will face in June 5 recall Milwaukee mayor Tom Barrett.
Barrett is viewed as the democratic establishment candidates and therefore even before the votes were cast today.
The conservative attack ads have been pinpointing their -- They obviously are focusing exclusively on me right now.
And I think it's because they know that he cannot defend his record on jobs.
Now the other top Democrat is former Dane County executive Kathleen -- she has been a bit of a one issue candidate with a promise to repeal the changes that Governor Walker made a collective bargaining -- she's got a lot of support from the unions.
So despite her lag in the polls the experts are saying because of that support from the unions don't count out Kathleen -- just yet -- So we've seen so much bitter passion really dividing people in Wisconsin is there any hope that any of this will change that.
No don't expect the nastiness to go away in fact it'll probably increase and that is because Wisconsin is it very much -- -- -- divided and decided there are very few undecided votes to decide that is gonna win this is -- -- that motivates -- -- out to the polls.
One way to do that is to poke the bear.
Get your -- good and angry so there's no way they stay home on Election Day.
What -- campaign wants to do is it wants to -- its base.
It wants to inflame their supporters to the point that the reporters who won -- Run to the polling place with their hair on fire yelling and screaming I have to vote.
Now tens of millions of dollars are pouring in from outside Wisconsin the sport both sides as this has become an ideological battle that could very well established momentum that carries in -- November Martha.
